Some of you defamed the guy, possibly cost him his job, and others were openly suggesting homicide or physical assault against him? Real, real bright. Regular frickin brain trust.

there is endless caselaw where an ISP or BBS was found NOT liable for members comments regarding other people... even if it was blatently incorrect. Furthermore, these cases have even said that these providers need not take down the information. We have taken it down.

Such ISPs include many AOL Bulletin boards and chat areas.

It depends upon whether or not the board was actively inciting criminal activity. I would refer you to the NAMBLA suit.

All it takes is one guy getting killed or beaten up, Citrus, and one damage judgment and all that endless "caselaw" is worth a pile of spit. If you have some appellate jurisprudence from an authoritative circuit court, please cite it.

The posts WERE libelous and physical threats were made. Moderation should have taken effect LONG before this got to the point that it did.

IMO, Hulkster was using MB's computer, without him realising what his "friend" was doing.

IMO, Hulkster was using MB's computer, without him realising what his "friend" was doing.

seriously-the guy was working in the computer department at Princeton. I SERIOUSLY doubt juicefreak sat at home-broke through the endless amount of firewalls/routers they have in place- to do all of his posting-and doing so for MONTHS without it being picked up. IF this guy isnt juicefreak-then he must be just walking into the IT department there without any questions asked-and sitting for hours posting on the internet.....
