Plus yes, it most likely is illegal. In most states when you work a certain number of hours, you are entitled to a certain length of time on paid break, usually 10-15 minutes for each 4 hours worked or something like that.

Not in Wisconsin, and I doubt we're the only state like that.

Of course, everyone thinks that they're entitled breaks per Constitutional Amendment xyz or similarsuch, but, eh, people like to believe they're entitled to everything, so I suppose it's nothing new.

(BTW, here, it's entirely up to the employer. Of course, pretty much every job offers standard breaks, though.)

we have pretty strict labor laws in Cali, has nothing to do with the constitution.

I do what I want, when I want. I handle my responsibilities.... everything else is up to me.

I feel sorry for the peeps that work in those types of environments, but generally they aren't the most reliable or self reliant groups so you have to clamp down to get shit done.

My suggestion to them would be improve themselves and get the fuck out.

Pretty awesome. I take hour and fifteen minute lunch breaks most days. Periodically leave for 15 minutes here and there to grab food, run to my car, make a phone call...no one hunts me down or gets panties in a wad. But it's an entirely different sort of work atmosphere where all that's important is the money I bring in and the satisfaction of my clients.
