liposuction to slim down - good or bad?

I work and and am in great shape and am not at all fat but I've always had a belly and love handle prob which has gotten worse now that I'm 39. I do not live in the gym and obsession with diet is not my desired lifestyle. I am happy where I am at now - not fat anywhere else - but hate the pudge. Anyone have any helpfull feedback about lipo for belly and flanks?

If you weren't working out and keeping in shape otherwise, I'd say that liposuction is at best a band aid to a fat problem. And an expensive one at that.

But hell, if you've put your "gymtime" in and worked on your diet and still have the pudge, I say go for it.

Personally I would go the DNP route before lipo, to me it would just seem easier cheaper and actually safer than Lipo, somthing about literally carving fat from your self just doesn't sit well from me.

of course the fat is going to come back either way if you continue on the diet that got you their in the first place.

I used to think I'd eventually get lipo to remove my gut. When I turned 17 , I made my mind up to eat healthy for 3 months and run every day.

I didn't even follow the plan all that closely and I lost my gut and actually got pretty skinny. Now , I'm trying to build mass, and I've completely forgotten what it was like to be fat :)

Point of the story, if you think you've exhausted all your options, thing again cuz the solution is out there (hint: it's not lipo...it's jogging and eating healthy)

Abrocketsfan - No flame intended bro, but trust me, there is a world of difference between 17 and 39.

Maybe having "alcohol as an anti-drug" doesn't help. I reached 180lbs and a size 14 with my drinking habits. I haven't touched it in 4 yrs and now I maintan (for the last 3yrs) 130-135lbs and a size 3.

There are areas I'm still unhappy with (the tummy and obliques could be tighter), but I work at it. Is a diet change all that bad? You won't even believe how much you don't miss what you think you can't live without now.

I have seen some people get great results from lipo, and some have horid results----sometimes it can make you look more lumpy, plus you will have scars
