In some ways, almost all of them material, it is easier, less laundry, less cleaning, less food to cook, nobody to answer to, nobody else uses up the toilet paper, etc.

In other ways, no. And IMO, the other ways outweigh the annoyances.

But bear in mind, I'm 42, I've been married or in a committed relationship, since I was barely 19 ... I don't know what it's like to be single and would be lost if I was. You get used to being single, just like you get used to being married.

you know I honestly dont think so..Sure my SO is a fucker, but I could not imagine myself without him...Yeah ok, I can imagine myself without him..But I do not think that I would be half the person that I am today.
My life completely changed when I got with him, then even more so when I had his kids. Some people may think it sucks because I dont drink (rarely), I dont smoke nearly as much weed, I dont go running around spreading my legs and getting knocked up by lowlifes,and I am not living with my parents for free. I grew up fast and matured rather fast as well. Personally I like this me better than the me I was when I was 16...I did not see anything in my future when I was a teen..Hell I could not even manage a full day of school without leaving and cutting classes so that I could party with the older kids.Since my SO and my kids I have become a much better person.I have stability and I have order in my life. I know what I want for my future, and I know that I will do it.It is some what motivational. Not only will I complete my goals for me, but I will do it because of my family..Never in my life would I have thought that I would be where I am today!
Sure without him i could go clubbing, meet guys, do whatever it is that single ladies do..But that is not what I want.I would rather deal with his aggravation every day then to be where I was 10 years ago
 
I've been in long term relationships straight for almost 18 yrs (since I was 16), then 7 yrs ago I became single for the first time. I've lived alone for 7 yrs now.
I've been with my current SO for almost 2 yrs now, so have had a taste of both. I like both.
I was happy single and am happy with my SO. Both have their pros and cons.
But I have say being single and living alone should be a MUST for ppl once in their lives. It really helps you see who u really are and what you're capable of.
I cherish my alone time and I cherish my time with my SO. I guess I have the best of both worlds.

I agree that "drama free" is the best way to live, whether you're single or coupled up.

I try and avoid it at all costs. If you can have that with a SO, then it's all good. I believe that's half the battle in people's relationships.

Currently no it would not be easier.
I'm pretty happy - so is he - actually it's rather nauseating to other just how well we get on.
 
This all depends on the moment. Many times I'm completely happy and can't even imagine how hard it would be with one and other times feel like I could really use one in my life.
 
i hate being alone. not that i have isues with it i just hate it. yea sometimes ill go for a drive by myself but when i return i imediately give her the package of maxi-pads and tell her "i love you".
 
Easier but less fulfilling. Plus you get sex and spooning just about anytime you want.
