Hi Badguysingh.

You really are anxious about the prospect of TRT aren't you?
I can say - hand on heart - that it really is no big deal...honestly. If you do need TRT then you will look back in a year or two, or even in a month or two and think..."My, my, I'm feeling so much better. Why did I worry so much?"

Okay, so maybe I'm understating how you should be feeling. It is okay to be a bit apprehensive, and it's understandable you've got lots of doubts and questions. Afterall, we're talking about a lifelong change, commitment, and reliance on a hormone that is powerful and unfairly, in my opinion, often gets a lot of negative press. I had a million and one questions about TRT too. I still have questions about it now, after 12 twelve years. However, I have no doubts or regrets about being on it.

In answer to your questions:

1. Nearly twelve years. Started in 2001/2.

2. I had testicular cancer and my remaining testicle didn't produce enough testosterone. I endured over a year of psychiatric/doctor/psychologist visits and depression tablets to attempt to cure a problem they (doctors) thought was in my mind. Many blood tests later concluded I had low T. Before therapy I was depressed, low energy, felt like I had flu all the time, low libido, poor erection quality, getting fatter, muscle quantity decreasing. Generally felt as life wasn't worth living.

Within weeks of therapy commencing many of these symptoms eleviated and I felt more "alive" and happier. Over the following months my body chemistry changed my mind, mood, and even physique. I noticed that my waist line was shrinking and I was looking more muscley (without weight training at this point).

The bad points are few: I don't get the sexual urges or amounts of sexual thoughts as I did prior to therapy/cancer. I know that how I feel will often depend on whether I've just had my fortnightly testosterone injection, or if I'm due my next one, when levels are lowest. I also suffer with higher blood pressure now which could be age (42) but it could also be due to increased red blood cell count; a side effect of therapy. Either way, it is now controlled by BP drugs and beta-blockers. This medication also counters the occasional panic type attacks that I suffered at night. These often happened a day or so after an injection, and may have been due to the bodily response of high levels of testosterone in my bloodstream at night, when levels are naturally at their lowest.

These minor issues aside, I feel better all round in my health than at any point since my youth. Actually, physique wise, I'm probably better looking physically than at any time in my life. I was a naturally, very, very, skinny kid. I was 130Ibs and 5'9" tall. That was thin. Now, I'm the same height but 190Ibs and around 12% bodyfat. Quite a difference, and one that wouldn't be possible without the help of the HRT for sure.

3. You can live a long and normal life if you don't abuse them and eat healthily, exercise regularly, and don't partake in bad habits too much.
However, low T can cause all manner of problems: metabolic disease; diabetes type 2; osteoporosis, obesity; hear disease; cardiovascular disease; respiratory disease; pulmonary disease; arterioscerosis; ad nauseam...

If you are deficient of testosterone in amounts deemed healthy for you personally, then therapy could well significantly extend your life span, rather than shorten it:).
No reason at all why you shouldn't be able to live a long and healthy life on therapy: 70-80 years or more!

Hope this helps.

Hi

I've got no experience of Phytoserm, but I've used Anastrazol for aint-aromatisation, and cabergoline for reducing prolactin issues (not as I had any). Better safe than sorry.

Therapy, if it's suitably dosed and so on for you, should provide you with much better erection quality and erection longevity.
Can I just clarify what I said earlier?
My sex life is great, compared to the year I spent without therapy after TC. I'm almost married for 20-years, and me and my wife are still going at it like two teenagers. Twice a week is usual for us too. So, if low testosterone is an issue and you do eventually decide to go for therapy, I'm sure you'll probably experience at least a surge in your sexual activity; at least in the first few months of treatment. It should taper off a bit (back to twice a week for you) after a few months. However, you never know, you might findo it gives you a permanently enhanced libido. It does happen.

Basically, therapy, if it's the right type: eg. gels, patches, injections etc. It's suitable for you and it's dosed correctly, then I can almost guarantee that it will increase your sexual prowess, rather than decrease it.

If you don't mind, I'm going to PM you something that might help.

Hello. I'm a female, 50, and had my blood work done. I have virtually no T. I'm tired all the time, no sex drive, and it has just created many problems. Any recommendations of something I could use and dosage. Talked to my doctor and also an endocrinologist and they will not give me anything. Thanks in advance!

Labtech70,
I have the exact same question about sexual health on TRT as I'm worried about that. Is their something you can PM me as well?

I've been on for 4yrs..best advise..find a dr that will listen..I spent the first t wo years with a gp that didnt know crap.started out with Androgel..went to IM injections..once a month..then every three weeks..then every two weeks..he wouldnt budge on anything else..had to go into office so he could get the office copay..wouldnt let my wife give them..she's a lpn..
found another DR..and he is just wonderful..lets my wife inject
every week..does bloods every three months.writes scripts so I can send to pharmacy to save money and found my estro was going up..gave me Arimidex. We tried the pellets but after the first two proceedures my test was still dropping so I went back to shots.what started the whole thing off to check was the sexual effects of low T..soft erection..tired all the time..fat around the belly..now total opposite

I am 41 and have been on TRT since i was 37. So 4 years and it was the best decision i could have ever made my levels were so low before starting trt i was to tired to do anything besides just get through the day at work. Now i am more active, Spend more quality time with the kids and family. It was a great decision on my part and have no regrets.

Of course it seems higher in the beginning but it doesn't go say you just get used to the feeling of higher T levels
