So Ive Been At My Job For Seven Years And Handle Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars. I Run A Rent To Own Store And There Are 5 Other Employees That All Share The Same Cash Drawer Wich Sucks.but 270.00 Bucks Came Up Missin And Now There Talking Lie Detector. I Know It Wasnt Me And Anyone Could Fail A Lie Detector At Anytime. I Also Can Refuse Wich Makes You Look Guilty. They Have A Good Idea Who Did It But What If I Fail, What If They Ask Other Questions Like Time Theft. I Take Extended Lunches Occasionally And Maybe Have Bought An Item For What Company Owed On Rather Than Sell It For More. Im Trippin Over This! Any Advise?

why is every first letter capitalized, did you really hit the shift key that many times?

funny, but amazing info here..
Polygraphs in government are common in the intelligence community. They are not without controversy, but they catch a lot of things. The US government has given the standard polygraph superpowers. Not only does a machine measure your blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and sweating, but there are computers analyzing images of your face and pupils that can detect lying. Quite cool stuff, but definitely makes one nervous to "sit in the chair."

What's up with all of the capitalization in your posts?

tell them you are willing to do it if they only ask you about the missing money.

I'd also check the laws in your state regarding this practice... In California, it is illegal to ask an employee to take a lie detector test, except for condition of employment, even then it is dicei.

Lie detectors are not adimited in court, because they are flawed.

But, on the other hand you really shouldn't have much to worry about if you didn't do it. At worst your results will come back irratic.

true what arabian said. its probably just scare tactics anyway, u should probably take it though just to be clean and no doubt

$270 is missing and your employers want to hire a someone trained to administer a polygraph to multiple employees? How much does that polygraph test cost? Is it cost effective to get to the bottom of a stolen sum of $270? I bet that your employers are looking for something else.

well im usure as to how serious they are about this but im kinda felling some kinda way about these fucks treating me like a thief. seven years ive deposited 5000.00 a day at least in the bank. for christ sake i have keys to a store full of shit. kinda just a kick in the nuts even if they dont do it.

I just checked with someone I know. It may be unconstitutional.
So is firing someone for being late for work all the time. You know, that person that refused the polygraph. I think he was late all the time. Let's forge a writeup. There, all set now.

That's how many employers think.

How about taking a boatload of ludes or barbiturates? Then again, you probably wouldn't care what you said.

However, as mentioned earlier by someone else.. running people through a polygraph for that kind of money is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Then again, it may be because they know of something else going on too.

Take the test, otherwise you'll probably lose your job by having them make up some bs excuse that is "unrelated" to the polygraph you just declined to take.

Damn bro...didn't think about it that way :worried:

But you're absolutely right.

Employers do stuff like that all the time to protect them. They can't fire someone for their religious beliefs, sexual orientation, etc., but they can either make it difficult to work there, or they can document all kinds of false things to support firing the person. It's hard to prove that the false documents were falsified. It's your word against theirs as many of your coworkers won't risk their jobs to stand up for you.

If that happened to you, would you bother to sue the or prove them wrong?

On what grounds would you sue? What evidence would you have to support your accusations?

You can fail a test but I doubt you will. You must also understand, that these tests are very easy to pass with the correct training.

My point? Start training to pass a lie detector test, start stealing and start giving me some commission, K?

Yea, take some barbiturates, and put antiperspirant all over your body.
