However, it is totally legal for me to purchase needles.

Has the big guy heard of the internet?? Why go through the hassle of the aggrevation and the embaressment of going into a local pharmacy that you know will give you a hard time? I hear ya, but that is A LOT of aggravation for some pins. Online ordering takes a few days at most and there are reliable sites. Everyone is comfortable with their own thing though.
