Leg workout

Leg workout ideas

I've been doing the same basic things on leg days and I'm just wondering what else people do. I'd rather switch things up a bit.

Right now I do the following every 5 - 7 days.

3 x 12 squats
4 x 12 calf raises
3 x 12 leg extensions
3 x 12 leg curls

I also jog, swim, bike, etc - I'm looking for more lifting exercises.

You should definitly add deadlifts to your workout. It is a must have exercise IMO and you will thank yourself later. I would also throw in some leg press with some heavy poundages to really push the envelope. I also reccomend doing away with leg extensions completely although they are used effectively for pre-exaustion. I did use them alot when I first worked out but it made a mess of my knees so I don't do them at all anymore.

Try this workout.....

Squat - 3 x 8-12
Dealifts - 3 x 6-10
Leg press - 3 x 4-10
Leg Curls - 3 x 6-10

Then work in your calves with standing calf raises and seated calf raises with watever rep range works best for you. If your gym has donkey presses then alternate those in with the other 2 exercises.
