Do 20mg twice a day and I guarantee you that you will start to piss like crazy within about 48hrs. I have used lasix in the past, and for some unknown reason it always seemed to hit me in the middle of the night. The cramps associated with lasix is also not worth it. Just be careful bro. The old saying "Up the dose and hope for the most" definately does not apply to lasix. It is a great drug for the purpose it was ment for, but a very dangerous drug if used incorrectly. Try a search on the net for Mohammid Benaziza(sp) and see what he died from. If I remember right, he dropped dead back stage after his routine.

it is news to me that lasix takes 48 hours at times to produce its effects. but will take it as a fair warning and not use it again for another 2 days.

As far as the Lasix, it has an onset of diuresis is about 1 hr, peaks in 1-2 and duration is 6-8hr. So you will know rather shortley which dose is working for you. If you are only taking it for a few days, you should be ok. You just don't want to over-diurese. Pay careful attention to any abnormal cardiac function. I like the idea before of using an anti-e which will get to the root of the problem instead of just masking the problem. IMO using an anti-e would be safer than using than using a loop long term. Because you know when you stop the loop, you are going to regain the H2O.
As far as using spironolactone for a diuretic, I think there are better alternatives. It is effective if there is an imbalance in aldosterone (hyperaldosteronism). But it is also an antiandrogen and can block the AR and produce a decrease in net test expression. If you were using it for an antihhypertensive, there are much better alternatives as well. Anyways, since you have already started the furosemide, keep us posted. If you need something for long term (if you notice the edema comes back, which it probably will if you continue high enough doses of test), consider an anti-e.

ok....... i'm still alive.
day 1: 20mg at noon, 20mg 6 hours later. no physical change, no excess pissing.
day 2: 40mg at noon, 40mg 6 hours later, very little physical change, very slight extra pissing.
irregular hearbeat, a few panic attacks in the middle of the night (although that could be the effedrine, though i've been using efedrine and never had panic attacks.)
overall, i'm holding a little less water but wouldn't use again for the cardiac reasons.
i'm dissapointed slightly as lasix was notorious for being the "ultimate diuretic". didn't prove so!
