ladies of EF what can i do to lower my gag reflex?

When I was young my mother would coat them in something like butter so they go down quick.
i can tell you actually.
take a q-tip and look in the mirror with a wide open mouth. touch the inside of your cheek with the qtip and move it back until you feel that gag reflex kick in. repeat a few more times until you're feeling a little sick.
do that every day and you'll actually see an improvement. eventually it takes more for the gag reflext to kick in.

I actually can't make myself gag that way, but I would imagine that you could just put the pill back very far on your tongue and swig it down with lots of water.

I didn't know they got stuck there until after many days of taking the same meds and more and more were getting stuck there. I almost ended up in the ER for it. Sub, I used to be like that. It is as much [psychological as it is physical. It seemed like I was going to choke if I swallowed the pills. Now it's no problem and I DO have a very acute gag reflex still, but not with pills.
The trick (if you can call it that) is to gulp as you're swallowing. Don't keep your mouth /throat in it's normal water drinking state when trying to swallow the pills. Seriously, for me at least was the fear of the 10 meg-vitamins (from GNC lol) getting stuck in my throat and choking.
Swallow as they're going down. do it.
