Kickbackzz, Pec Deckzz, and Flyezz

Lifted yesterday 12/4/06

Front Squat: 135x5, 135x5, 225x5, 225x5 (all with pauses for a few sec. at the bottom because my knees just didn't want to get warm last night)......then, 275x5, 315x3, 335x3, 355x3, 375x3 (3 reps/set PR)

Incline Press: 135x15, 225x5, 275x5, 300x5, 315x3, 330x3, 345x3 (first time training these in a while, I'll be pushing these instead of flats for a bit).

Flat D-Bells: 115sx 10-10-10

D-Bell Skullcrishers: 55sx 12-12-12

All in all a good workout. I wasn't expecting my incline to be where it is, so I was pleasantly surprised. I planned on heavy power cleans tomorrow, but I feel like training, so I am doing them tonight.

Has the diet begun? I do think I saw whole wheat tuna and Diet Mtn Dew today.

Nice squatting - wondering what happens to your lifts as you turn into the smaller T

I just started to be a little more careful. My lifts will go down a little bit of course. My pressing isn't where I like it to be at a lighter bodyweight, that's the one thing that slapping on weight really helps me with. The main thing with lifting is when I cut my calories, I need to be careful with volume. I still lift as heavy as I can though, little weights mean little body, lol.

I will look into changing my handle to 'MediumT', lol....or 'MediummT'...also while I think of it, big with two g's isn't to be a douche bag, one g was already taken.

I'll do things like Chinese takeout instead of Chinese buffet until Jan, that should be good to go from 260-240 knowing me, then I will tighten the reigns a little more in Jan.

Sounds about like what I'm doing. Less cals. but no huge diet changes. It seems to work well for me till about 200 lbs. Then I've got to do something more and I'm not even sure if I want to get any smaller than that. Good luck with it!

Workout from yesterday....12/9/06

Snatch Pull: 135 and 225 x warm-ups....275x3, 315x3, 345x3, 375x3, 405x3

SLDL: 405x8, 455x8, 455x8

Preacher curls x 4 sets of 12, lol, my elbows are bothering me, I have an excuse.

Hey Que.....long time no see.....

Lifted yesterday....Mon. 12/11/06

Front Squat: 135x5, 135x5, 225x5, 300x5, 335x1, 365x1, 405x1, 415x1 (PR), 315x8 (8 rep PR, I hate high reps on front squats and I almost threw up after I racked the bar)

Flat Bench: 135x10, 135x10, 225x5, 300x5, 335x5, 365x1, 385x1, 405x1 (all good, fast, smooth reps....PR is 425 and I've got 2 more weeks until the reduced cals kick me in the ass to break it, so I am gonna try to peak this lift)

Decline Press: 315 x 3 sets of 10 .....I love declines, my regret is not doing them more often.

Dumbell Skulls: 60's x 3 sets of 8

Weighed in at 256.....down 4lbs

Post workout meal was 2 eye of round steaks, 2 sweet potatoes, broccoli, and a glass of milk

Toss in some incline next time to hit all angles and fibers of the sternal and clavicular heads of the pectoralis major. :rainbow:

Nice work. You should peak rows rather than bench. But I know what you're up to: everyone in law school will say "how much can you bench?" and you'll have to say "425" unless you hit new PRs, in which case you can say "440" or something more impressive. LoL

Most of the guys on the AAS board can rep 440, FYI.

Nice lifting T. I can't imagine 415 in a clean grip as 225 kills my wrists.

Set that baby across the front delts, it's okay if a few fingers come undone, as long as the elbows stay high, the bar will stay firmly racked.

Hey T! :) :wavey: So there is this guy at my gym I see just about every morning, I swear you guys are related, do you have any cousins in chicago?? although he is not as muscular as you. If i find out his name is Tony Im going to laugh lol. Nice lifting as always :D

T - When are you coming to Texas? We can all get together and get kicked out of a gym or two. I just got told I can't DL at the Fire Department either. They are saying I might crack the floor. I said "Well, that's what I'm trying to do so piss off". Officers don't like that talk....:worried:

TX would be a good time.....we've got to meet up during high school football season, I have to see that in TX first hand.

Yah! This town I live in now has a hell of a good Football team. We thought they were going to Stae but they lost this last weekend...:worried: Go have a look at Al420's log. We are having a great time with this kid!! :)

Good night at the gym....

Power Clean: 45 and 135 x a million......185x2, 225x2, 255x2, 275x2, 295x2, 315x2, 330x1 (big PR)

Pendlay Row: 275x5, 295x5, 315x5, 325x5, 330x5 (huge PR. and I am out of juice with these, 330 was tough....maybe t-bar or chest supported rows for a bit now)

Chins: (palms-facing grip) Bodyweight x 3 sets of 11

D-Bell Hammer Curls: 60sx8, 65sx8, 70sx8

I was pumped about this workout....I'm happy that I know my training and myself well enough to be able peak on call.

Had 6 homemade tacos post workout (I'd usually have 12 when 'bulking')

You're certainly making these last few weeks as a heavyweight count. Congrats on the PRs.

When do you plan to attempt the big deadlift?

Very impressive night, man. Big PRs, and hell, the chinning afterwards was nice too.

Now get ready to shrink and become a slobby college student again. LoL

Very nice PR's. I'm especially impressed with the Pendlay Row. You could do them side by side with Ronnie Coleman now. I'm a little surprised the curls weren't a PR either hahah.

It's awesome that you know your body like that. 150kg powerclean!!! Damn, I backsquatted it for singles on Saturday and thought I was awesome haha.

Thanks guys.....

CS, I am just gonna stick in DL on a day without thinking or worrying about it and see what happens.

Tweakle, thanks, man, from a guy like you it's appreciated.

Enigma, I feel strong right now, I probably won't for too much longer, lol, but I can keep cutting volume for intensity for a few weeks to make up for it.

Protobuilder, you listen to Phil Collins in your Ipod

FF, lol at you and Al in Al's journal

36 Drew, thanks for the compliment, I can't accept it though, lol.....well, maybe I can row with Coleman through his first few wram-up sets, how's that?

Petpre, I never used to curl jack shit, maybe 50lb bells, then I brought my chins up to snuff and it magically improved them.

Thanks, SR....this is probably the first time I nailed this right with subbing intensity for volume.....100% right without screwing something up along the way that is.

The suit should be 2-3 sizes to small and torn in any area that sticks out. Maybe some ketchup stains down the front..

That power clean is sick - so thats from the floor up to the clavical and down into a front squat or do you just catch them up top. I'm thinking w/ that much weight you have to get down to catch it??

They were power cleaned, caught high...I am gonna be honest and admitt that the 330x1 I kind of did the 'football player' catch with my feet a little wider than they should have been, but nothing too excessive..........I haven't squat cleaned in a few months, I should be able to use more in the squat clean than the power version (as would anyone), but I'd have to readjust to the timing.

Perhaps you should look into competing soon. If you CJ 180kgs, in any class, I would say it's competitive.

In my experience with peaking, dropping intensity at least with the olympic lifts have never worked. The efficiency of the motor pattern - the "feel" of heavy weights, and the pure explosive ability must be maintained by lifting heavy. The only way to peak is to drop volume and then adjust intensity by feel.

I don't have the discipline or understanding yet to control the peaks, it's really hard. Sometimes I'd hit the weights heavy as hell for 3-4 days, maxing out every day, then feel awesome and hit PRs on the fifth day. Other times, I'll taper and then it's like I've been away from heavy weights for so long when it comes time to lift, my legs are gone.

So far, it looks like one or two heavy sessions 5-6 days out is perfect, then in the tapering 5-6 days, slashing volume and cutting intensity to 70-80%, focussing on speed and explosiveness (ie: power moves).

Busy weekend......I'll be working out tonight. Weight's down to 254-ish. Ate an ungodly amount of Sushi last night.

For anyone who was keeping up w/ his log, I talked to JKurz last night for a little bit, he pulled mid-300's last week and did some front squats last night and then went to Sunday dinner w/ family where he was to do some big eating, just thought I'd let everyone who was following along know he's doing good.

Monday 12/18/06

I weighed in at 253, I am going to unload my squat and pull a little because I feel like I got run over by a train.

Front Squat: 135x5, 135x5, 225x5, 275x5x5

Decline Press: 135x15, 225x5, 275x5, 315x5, 350x5, 385x5 ....I heart declines, I had a lot left in the tank at 385, 4 plates x 5 next week.

Incline Dumbell Press: 95's x 4 sets of 12

Triceps pushdowns: 3 sets of 15, I am not gonna mention weight as I think it is just plain old silly to do so, lol

oh yeah....do to a jam packed weekend coming up and not being able to train Fri and Sat, I am lifting Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs this week with squats/presses on Mon/Wed and pulls on Tues/Thurs.

Tues. 12/19/06

Power Clean: bunch of warm-ups with 45 and 135.....225x3, 275 x 4 sets of 3

Clean Pull: 315x3, 345x3, 385x3, 405x3

Chins (reverse grip): bodyweight x 10-10-10

D-Bell Hammer Curl: 55s x 3 sets of 15

Unloading my pulls a little.....everything was easy.

haven't updated in ages......moved to MI and have been training 3 times a week. Bodyweight is down to 233.....from 260 at Thanksgiving, lol.....I can still take it off in my old age I guess.

For diet I just eat a lot of protein and then whatever the hell I want, just much less....but in terms of a 'diet' most people on a bodybuilding board would die if they knew half the shit I still ate.

I did do a "gallon of milk in an hour" challenge and a friend of mine witnessed....finished a gallon of skim in 58:49....I didn't puke, my my stomach was beating up on me big-time for almost 24 hours, lol.

Pressing is way down.....squatting is a disgrace, I won't post any #'s....I still enjoy pulling, I hang cleaned 275x 9 (with straps) last week......also, I think Chocolate milk is my new PWO drink of choice.....I will try to keep updating after workouts....

good to see some updates brother. and congrats on the gallon of milk in 60 mins. not quite a gallon in 15 mins like i've seen mentioned in the rippetoe interview but certainly an achievement... next time we want vids for motivation :p

chocolate milk as pwo...hmmm...sounds interesting. glad your back logging bro! welcome back

Why do I have this feeling that you have sort of lost of love?? Not a bad thing brutha....other matters to take care of...you just don't have the "ummmmmf" like you used to....I'd love to see you crank it up again.....trust me, once you start regressing, it's hard to get it back.....
