kETOSIS AND CAFFINE QUESTION

I have been eating zero carbs for two weeks now and the keto stixs will not change color!I do drink a lot of coffee w/a tad of 2%milk and thats all the carbs I get.Now is the caffine preventing the stix's from turning purple but I am in ketosis or am is the caffine actually stopping me from going into ketosis?Im 5'-9" and 172lb's in to weeks only lost about 3-4 lbs..thank you for any advise.
 
If I had to bet, I would say its the sugars in the milk. Use heavy whipping cream instead. Test first thing in the morning if you can, it may be less diluted at that time. If you drink alot of water it may never show on the stix. That's actually a good thing though because I lost more fat on keto when my water intake was up.
 
Toss the stix once you get a feel of when you get into ketosis (after awhile you can usually tell). Basically, they're just something fun to pee on.:D
And losing 3 to 4 lbs. in 2 weeks is fine, assuming it's fat. That's about where you want to be. And on a CKD, I took thermogenics and hit up some coffee too. Still dropped about 20lbs in 6 to 7 weeks. Good luck.

KD- how much LBM did you lose in that time frame?
 
i was doin a keto diet for 4 weeks and never showed positive on those damn stix.probably because i was doin alot of cardio and drinkin alot of water.so i wouldnt bother with them.if your piss smells like burnin rubber your there!
 
As for LBM.....I lost almost none. Strength stayed about the same (endurance dipped a little toward the end of the wk).

Mathmatically showed LBM as the same. (used weight and bf calc.)

Maybe a pound or two. If you include water and glycogen and not actual tissue, bump that to 5 or 6. All my lifts stayed or went up except for anything working the shoulder girdle. I played baseball for the first time in a few years a week before starting and messed up my shoulder. So those weights dropped, but squats went up a good amount, and bent over rows went up a ton. I'd say I probably dropped at least a clean 12 to 14 lbs. of fat, most of it in the first 3 weeks, then alot more in the last week. Weeks 4 and 5 I screwed up and didn't get enough calories.
