I had 2 bone spurs removed. The surgeon also found a partial tear that didn't show up on the MRI. I had the same thing done on my other shoulder 18 months ago. I hope this will get me back in the gym pumping some iron soon. Getting old sucks.

Did you have the 1st surgery for the same reason or was it more of a tendon/muscle related injury? Good luck on the recovery.

Yeah, the first surgery was pretty much the same thing only the partial tear showed up on the pre-op MRI.

Damn that sucks. You seem predisposed to bone spurs, lol, i just made that up, sorry i've been drinking. Best of luck in your recovery and exploding back to the gym when the time comes.

What causes the Bone Spurs? I reason I ask is I had my first experience with rotator cuff injuries- nothing near as serious as yours, but requiring an injection in each shoulder and time out of the gym. Do you have a history of rotator cuff problems, and are spurs the culmination of multiple injuries?

Best of luck on the recovery!

Are you getting an injection of cortisone for your shoulder?

i have had 2 shoulder surguries too. both in the last 2 yrs. first time they repaired labrium = 1 yr recovery. this time they took off bone spur from bottom of acromian and cut the end of my clavicle off = 6 month recovery

Yeah, I ended up with a cortisone and lidocaine mixture injected in each shoulder about a month ago...a pain in the ass, but the are both a lot better, just get fatigued easier. The Doc. said the lidocaine would mask the pain, and allow for a better diagnoses- seeing if there was a tear or just inflammation, with the pain gone, there was no muscle weakness, so it was just pain from being inflammed.
