Congrats Jens :rose:

You look amazing!

And as far as the wanting those devil foods.. i can understand. Sometimes you just need a break. That doesn't mean going all out and having junk all the time, but we all know on comp diets there is no cheat meals. You've been kicking ass for a long time now and your body is talking to you.

Don't go off the deep end but I suggest you listen to your body. I had to just completely come to terms with the fact that the other two comps I wanted to do were unrealistic. Both emotionally and physically.. it just wasn't healthy for me when my body told me to stop.

That being said there are more comps later... Don't jeopardize your health or well being, not to mention your sanity for a trophy :rose:

You did it once, you learned alot about your body and yourself, how far to push and how hard to push. You can do it again, a month from now, a year from now... You chose.

Thanks Friskers!!

The next show I wanted to do is Oct 29th - so I think I still have time to get back on track with everything. Especially since the cut-off for entry is Oct 16th or 19th or something - so I can always NOT do it and I still have time to see how it goes from now till then........I mainly wanted to do another show for practice really.

And yeah - I don't need another trophy!! LOL

PS - If I can do anything for you or SEND anything to you - please let me know!! :rose: Want some candy?? :lmao:

Thanks Skittles!!

I simply CAN'T throw food away - too many years of Catholic school & a Catholic mom who ingrained in me that it's a SIN to do so........

Got a dog? Seriously you have dieted for a long time you could use the junk food right now. Like Skittles said as long as you get back on track by the weekend you will be good to go.

I took 2 Sesamax today at noon-ish........and upped my Trex today to 2x a day - 1 pill 2x a day, hoping that the appetite suppression will kick in. I'll take 2 more Sesamax with my next meal in about an hour or so.....

I was taking Taraxatone the week before the show, ran out then took D-root - which I stopped cold on Sunday. :worried: The bloat is WAY down - still a little bit there, but a lot less than what it was. The uncomfortable feeling is gone.

And yes - I won't bother with Maryanne from now on - if she wants to be like that, then let her.

Going to shoot for 100% clean tomorrow!! That's my goal!! :verygood:
I am a softy too and often have that 'want to help' approach, but bask in YOUR glory... she'll come around and if she doesn't, that is NOT your problem. But you know this :rose:

I understand what you are saying about bloat 'still there' but WAY DOWN and uncomf feeling gone is GREAT. And even though I have not been in a comp, I HAVE experienced the post comp bloat in very similar ways and it SUCKS.

BTW, I love Frisky's post.

Jens, we've all seen you FAR exceed your goals and make them ‘your bitch’... Always remember there is nothing wrong with NOT doing this comp and trying to establish some type of normalcy again.

You can create a plan to add some size, take the Sesamax, eat more (healthy foods of course)… there is always another project waiting for you …
:rose:

or I'm sure I can find many :velvett:'s ... just let us know how we can help :)

I am so very proud of you.. know that, and its from the heart. You were a bit bull headed at first about being individual and listening to your body.. that the trainer wasn't a mindreader .. but eventually you got it. Then the transformation began. You listened, not only to everyone here but most importantly to your body and your needs.

BB, esp competing isn't the easiest thing to do.. dieting sucks, its mentally and physically draining. You earned alot of respect not only from women here, the ones you competed against, the judges.. but most importantly YOURSELF!

I can remember when you thought YOU COULDN'T DO IT! I'm so damn glad you gave it a shot :rose: You prove to yourself, no worries about those around you, but to yourself that you are indeed a fighter.

I even paid for my fourth comp and just realized that the signals my body and mind were giving me were to much to bare. I could have done it yes.. but with what sacrifice??

I won't deny that I felt like a failure for days to come and was depressed and felt like I just gave up. Then, like a slap across the face it hit me. I wasn't a failure, but I defeted many of my demons. I took my body to an extreme that I didn't even think possible. Sure I still have doubts about every show I do and have done in the past. Hell I didn't think I could come in for my second show.. i though my first show was just luck.. LOL.

Again.. i proved to myself that I could. Hard work and determination! Hell that will push you thru some hard times.

A month away isn't so bad... but just know that after the weeks of dieting strict, depletion and stress, your body will rebound. Don't get depressed over it or else you will cause more rebound. We are here to support you if you do decide to do that show.. but just know that if you don't do it, you have still started your journey and you've accomplished more than half the poplulation of the world could dream of accomplishing.

also, thank you for your concern :rose: btw.. how bout some of that award winning salsa? :qt:

Yeah, I'm not worried about her........just figured I'd try to "feel her out" by chatting today - now I know.....whatever! *flips hand*

Yep! I know it'd be OK to not do the comp - I'm going to leave it up in the air for now & just take it 1 day at a time.........If I decide NOT to do it - I'm going to need help to start a Build Muscle Eating Plan!!!!!

Get out your :velvett:'s girl!!

Loff ya *****THIS MUCH*****

Dang girl!! You deserve an award for BEST POST EVER!!
eclipsee_gold_cup.gif

And I really don't feel depressed, per se, but it's more of a "What do I do now?" feeling cuz the 9/24 show was my whole purpose of being for a few months then with the after-party planning & redoing the ENTIRE house to get ready for it ----> now that it's all done I find myself wondering what to do with myself - hence the "Well why not do another show to practice?" thought. Cuz after that, my plan was to do a build muscle/get ready for skiing thing......I guess I just needed some time to regroup.

And it's funny you mention salsa cuz I'm driving up into NJ tomorrow to buy 25lbs of tomatoes + peppers + onions to make salsa this weekend!! Planning on 60+ jars this year!! I owe a few people a jar!! ;)

I deserve a jar then right? :p hee hee

You will know when it is time... your body will tell you. All you have to do is listen.

It is doable, no doubt. You however do need a little bit of time, rest relaxation.. all that good stuff that does a body good. Its totally understandable that you are having those cravings. If by the end of the week you still decide to do it then get strict with your self again. Put yourself on a time frame and rid your home of the temptations.

We all know you can do it. :rose:

So, open your ears, rest, relax, enjoy at least one week of life and then decide.

Gosh, I loved my abs, had to tell them bye bye :( but I knew that if tomorrow i decided i wanted them back, i had the strength and a solid plan to get there.

I'm alot happier right now as for as that mental thing goes :worried: Alot on my plate at the moment but before all this trauma I was healthy, took some needed time off, spent time with family, kids and friends and caught up on so much that was missed. That in itself made me so full of life and ready to give it my all again.

If you need ANYTHING just let me know

**Once I got home is where my day fell apart completely. I'm finding myself COMPLETELY OBSESSED with junk food, primarily sweet things. I'm already thinking of NOT doing the 10/29 show as I don't know if I can do the diet again. I feel like I've been dieting for SO DAMN LONG that I just don't want to diet again. To be honest - I'm enjoying the junk food and I just don't feel like cutting it out - although the Tastykakes are gone now, which is good. My head just isn't "in it" right now. Since I haven't reserved a room for the NJ show or even mailed off my entry fee - I still have some room to think about it/decide - but I feel out of control with my food, yet don't really want to reign it in. I'm between a rock & a hard place right now. I don't feel depressed so to speak, but I'm tired of the restriction & limitations yet I'm tired of how I feel eating like crap. *sigh*

Wowzers! Just kidding mama! Be proud of what you have acomplished so far. Of course you need a break. You have been dieting for a long time. Just plan the next show out and give yourself a little time of. Just remember everything in moderation. Thats where I screw up. Back to one cheat meal a week?

How are you feeling today Jen?

Itchy from the ProTan coming off - which is a mess btw! Still a lil bloated so I'm going to take what I have left of my D-root this weekend.

I ate everything!! So all that's left is what I'm supposed to eat!! LOL

Tell me about it!! I DO tend to go all out! :p

Going to plan on doing the show 10/29 - but will just play it by ear!

Even if you decide not to do the show it should help you get your eating back on track.

Well that's pretty much what I'm trying to do - sort of fool myself mentally that I don't have to have a Panic Attack that "Oh NO I'm doing another show & I have to eat XYZ now cuz I can't ever have it again!" I just need to relax & take it one day at a time.......

I can remember when you thought YOU COULDN'T DO IT! I'm so damn glad you gave it a shot You prove to yourself, no worries about those around you, but to yourself that you are indeed a fighter.

Speaking of this....have you actually taken a step back, looked at yourself in the mirror and said "Girl, you did it! You ROCK!" I mean really - you should do that if you haven't already. Seems like you're kind of in a whirlwind right now (which is TOTALLY understandable). All the build up to "the day" and then the drop off and BIG sigh after it was all over.

Take a bow - FOR YOU!:)

LOL it's funny - a guy at my gym asked how I did & I told him I won Ms. NCC & about the other placings then said "From now on you need to bow to me! And I'm going to wear a crown to the gym!!" :lmao:

But yes, I almost can't believe I did it!! What a concept!! When I first came to EF I had NO desire to compete - now I've done TWO shows!! WOW!!

Jen - since you where asking about pumpkin butter, I found a few recipes for it. Of course you wouldhave to make the alterations.....sugar to splenda etc.
http://www.ichef.com/recipe.cfm?itemid=92666&task=display&recipeid=92316

If it's any good, maybe you can let us know in the recipe section :)

Here is another (not spicy), but it doesn't call for brown sugar:

Thanks!!

I just made the top one. I didn't have quite enough pumpkin (only a tad over 1 cup) & I used 1/2 brown sugar twin / half packed brown sugar. It is really good! Made the house smell good too!

**I was starving to death!! Like - can't relax cuz I'm so hungry - was also DYING for something sweet........so.....

11:45pm
8 Caramel Filled Hershey's Kisses *sigh*

**I won't post what else I ate :( But needless to say I completely F'd up my diet today.........so far, the "excitement" of doing a show has worn off and I just don't feel "into it" this time......considering of giving up the idea of doing another show this season and chalk up the NPC fee as a "waste of money" so to speak - It's so DUMB that it's so expensive to join & it's not even good for 1 year from when you join!! :redhot: Stupid!! I like being my "new" smaller size but I just don't know if I "have it in me" to maintain it for another month - which seems like FOREVER!!

**Oh and when trying on sneakers today I pressed down on one of my fingers accidentally - didn't even hurt my finger - but snapped one of my acrylic nails!! OMG the pain!! It bled pretty good too!! I can't wait to get rid of these things and go back to being "low maintenance" again.

**I’m pretty much sick of the focus of my life being “restrictive dieting.” Sucks!!

1:35am (10/4)
I'm still up - I just don't feel that tired or like going to sleep.....and I've just continued eating all night!! In the past 2 hours I've eaten all sorts of Crap!! I feel like a complete failure....... :worried:

The wagon is three steps to the left.

I know this because I'm trying to climb back on but I think someone greased the steps....I hope they used Olive Oil and not vegtable oil. :worried:
One thing I've already learned from EF is that everyone falls down. It reminds us where our feet belong.

Besides - you look FAN-TABULOUS!!!

This is So my mind set! Evertime I even take a bite, this is what I think! Yes, it leads to pure evil.

It's the same after a cheat meal for me.....the next day I could live off cookies.

Sorry your feeling bad Jen. I wish I knew the cure.

You're just in a funk right now. Your head will get back to "clean mode" before you know it. Get that stuff out of your reach!

Today will be better!:)

Good advice. Give the food shopping list to the hubby, no temptations to buy junk food and have it in the house if your not even at teh store.

You dieted for so long and you finally have a little bit of a break. Your only human. I know for me when I take one bite of something sweet its all over. I eat everything sweet thing in site. And for a few days after I have to allow myself something sweet that isnt to bad just to ward off the cravings. Like a bran muffin, trail mix, or try this...go to Trader Joes a get 0% greek yogurt. Put in flax meal and 1/2 c berries plus cinnamon. Its SOOOOO good and insanely low in calories...80 per cup ....0 fat and 6 gr carbs. And its like a cheat food. Then just make sure you force yourself to avoid anything not on your list until your cheat meal. Girl....you know how to do it. Look at you!!!!

Thanks everyone for your support & kind words.......

At this point I'm pretty sure I'm done competing for the year. I just don't feel "into it." And I don't want to do a show that I don't give my all.

I miss my life and time with my hubby.

OH HECK YA!!! Let me know how you react to the Sesamax as far as the bloat goes. I had some, but not nearly as bad as the 'post show bloat' (see ses thread for more info) experience I would normally get without the sesamax when eating, well 'foods not in my normal dietary regime' ... ... :chomp:
