Jeez, somebody took his job too seriously...

I'll wager you are fairly youthful. You might be amazed one day at the twists and turns of life. This world is a lot bigger than you are. You may feel that some day. i hope not.

LOL. Word.

There's the textbook for life, and then there's the real deal.

Big deal, cops kill themselves quite frequently.

I remember reading an article about that not too long ago. What reasons do they cite for that, anyway? I guess it would have something to do with the psych profile of the average cop, but I'm not sure what that would be. Maybe they just loose their ideals and become too cynical about the world after working the streets long enough, and they all have ready access to a handgun?

What would you be like if you had to deal with a cops job? They don't mingle with the best and brightest at all times if you get my drift. Casavants run in was an exception. :)

Can you imagine the shit they hear from people? I'm pretty polite and I've told a cop what I thought of the ticket I received. I've received a couple bullshit tickets though.

If they hear it from criminals, then they shouldn't care. If they hear it from law-abiding citizens, then they deserve it because they shouldn't be harassing people who are doing nothing wrong.

WARIK, you are my hero.

But let us not fret, in memorial of this fallen police officer, the city placed a camera at a "stop" sign to take his place.

Cops deal with shitty people all the time. Drug addicts, wife beaters, murderers, rapists... the list goes on. The decent people they deal with are hardly ever at their best either- they're drunk, in a domestic dispute, etc. They see this shit day in and day out, and maybe when they start out they cut someone a break only to be throwing them in the slammer a week later for the same offense. Cops are threatened, spat on, shot at- they develop an "us or them" mentality. I'm sure it's easy to get very cynical. I think a lot of cops are dicks, and they certainly bend the rules and abuse their power, but as long as we're asking them to deal with the whole spectrum of human beings down to the lowest of the low, we can't expect them to have a "good citizen" radar that comes with a convenient on/off switch. That's reality man.

I'm sure most of you here have heard about the Nebraska bank robbery which claimed 5 lives. The police officer who stopped the alleged killer a week before the robbery killed himself. Seems like he couldn't live with it and decided to off himself. The sad part is, he left a wife and six children. I can understand how he felt when he found out about the robbery but that's a stupid way to take yourself out of this world.

The article link is below:

 Quite simply, he was a weak person. Cops are always crying about how tough their job is to whoever will listen but never take actions to improve their situations.
