Hey Girlies!
I have been trying Nytro-Tech by MuscleTech as of late, and it really is great as far as performance, but man is it bad!!! YUK! Anyone here try a really good tasting, low fat, effective protein powder?? Is there a such thing?

Also, a bit confused about when to take it during the day.. I work out 5-6 times a week... @ exactly 4:45 p.m. haha i know! i'm on a strict scheldule. It's a change from my old mid-day workout which was so much better, but i had to switch about 3 months ago, i need all the extra help i can get for energy.

What are some of your scheldules for prtein powders, if you work out at night??
Thanks in advance girls.. Opps and guys!!:bikinimom :bikinimom :bikinimom

Hi! Sometimes I work out at night and I have a protein powder shake with flax oil just before bed, right after my workout. Right now I have designer protein powder in the cupboard, by optimum nutrition. I think it is yummy. Check out the diet discussion board or do a search on best tasting protein powders. Have you tried adding a dash of cinnamon to chocco flavoured ones? I like it in coffee in the morning, too with splenda and cinnamon. Hope this helps!

I had posted this in another thread, but am copying it here for you. If I lift in the am, I drink one before and eat a meal after; if I lift in the pm, I drink one before and one after. The protein powders I'm listing are very low/no carb and negligible fat.

Protein - Here are the two new protein powders I found, both of which are low carb, mix easily, and taste good (as good as protein powder can taste). They are both very high quality products, so you will pay a little more, but IMO, it's worth it.

I like the Proform product in Strawberry Banana. I also tried chocolate, but I'm not a big fan of the milky flavored protein powders anymore - too many years of drinking them. You can order samples to try before you buy - they charge $1.50 each for a sample, but no shipping. What I like about this product is it's no carb and has added vitamins and minerals - making it closer to a meal replacement product. Two scoops gives you 49 grams of protein.

3 lbs. is $31.95, 5 lbs. is 44.95.

This is the protein powder my powerlifting friend turned me on to - Ultra-Pro 7 in Grape. Two scoops is 40 grams of protein, <1 gram of carbohydrate, but no added vitamins/minerals. This one is a little more expensive - normally it's $42.95 for 2.2 lbs., but right now it's on sale through the end of the year for $32.95.

Hey Girl.. thanks... JJ yes i do.. I was in a hurry to get the post out. Thanks for the info.. So before and after huh? Do you feel cloated during your workout?

No - these are pretty light-sitting powders. I feel better than I would if I had eaten solid food, at least. :-) Since I eat every 2-2 1/2 hours right now, seems like I always need to eat right around the time I work out. Both these protein powders make that feasible.

Lean Body for Her (vanilla) is my favorite...170 cal, 10 fat cal, 10g carbs, 30g protein. It's great in a blender with water and ice, but it also mixes easilly with just water...I do that at work in a plastic cup.

Iso Pure (Nature's Best--available at alot of places) is a very good tasting protein powder. Low carb and dissolves completely with just a spoon.
