Is my HRT clinic f***ing me?

So you started HRT with no bloodwork? If your just trying to get gear, your wasting your money. If you need HRT thats another subject. Now that you have basically self medicated, you have no idea if you really need HRT! PM me your email and I can send ya some reading material on HRT, what labs you should monitor etc. You can bring it to your doc.

As far as the 200mg/wk. Thats not hrt thats a weak cycle at best. HRT is usually 80-100mg/wk on average. 200mg/wk is a waste if your just looking to get some muscle. 300-500 is more realistic, but not for life long hrt.

Thanks for taking time to respond. The HRT clinic did send a portamedic to take my blood. I am assuming that everything was good to go, but I don't know numbers or what they would even mean except for PSA. I am learning a LOT as I go along.
I told my regular doc about the HRT program I was on and he thought it was resonable to try, so he agreed to do the follow up blood work.

One quick note: I like this Doc, but he did not know what HCG was for I had to tell him what it was for.

OK, back to the subject; I am assuming the HRT clinic will give my blood numbers to use as my baseline. I'll see if I can get them.

I guess right now I am comfortable being at 200mg/week for 1 cycle. I want to see how my body responds. Or am I playing to safe? Prostatecancer runs in the family. Both my grandfather and my dad have had prostate cancer. My dad had the surgery and it was scary.

Here is what the HRT clinic recommened for a cycle:

1-10 week 200 mg test cyp/week

starting at week 3 10mg nolvadex 1 tab every other day
2 weeks after 10 week cycle 1000iu/day for 10 days
You guys are the experts at gear. Does this seem right?

The more I learn, the more I see how f**ked docs are and HRT clinics want to make a buck, wish I would have ran across this website before I paid the clinic. I could have my own do-it-yourself project.

Before my 40th birthday (May 06), I want to go from 19% bf to 13% and gain 3% muscle mass. I'm 6'3" 215 lbs.

Oh, also when should blood work be done?

Thanks again,

Do you have insurance bro? My HRT is similar to yours and it's only 5$ for a 10c/200mg bottle. YOur right about not getting any advice. My endo doc pretty much did the same thing. Gave me a script and said see you in 6 months. My pharmacy eill only despence 1 bottle every 21 days. Could be the reason you only got half.

After reading your guys beta, I guess that pharmacies only dispense so much at a time. I didn't realize that. I wish the HRT clinic would have let me know. I guess just worried about clinic closing and losing money. You know how that shit goes online!

Anyhow, I am self employed, so I pay for everything out of pocket. I am guessing that there are much cheaper ways to go. Thanks again!

You might want to go through the info in the Longevity area. Lots of personal comments about HRT and the various programs.

I'm not a fan of on-line programs. You have entered into a contract that you probably can't enforce. And ... where is the Doc to come to your side if you get some bad side-effects?

I'm with an Anti-Aging Doc and enjoying the full benefits of legal scripts, blood work and consultations within my insurance program ... except fot the HGH, which is out-of-pocket. Big teaching hospitals have this.

I had to take a good look at my diet and make big changes before I got the full kick of the program. Protein up .... fast carbo down. Made huge difference in my blood numbers.

Remeber this please ... HRT is for health, not muscle magazine results. The good news is that at the peak of health with low dosage HRT, proper diet and exercise, you'll look damn good!

That's real good advice!!! When you start an HRT program, you (I) get big ideas. I start to picture myself like arnold. Even though I like the way I look now, I guess I want to look better and more muscular. who doesn't?

But I want to be healthy also. I've mentioned that prostate cancer runs in the family. I do not even know how I will respond to test cyp. (I took my 1st shot yesterday) My girl shot me in the ass yesterday and it doesn't even hurt today.

I do like the idea of having a legal script, but it sure is expensive out of pocket.
Thanks for the beta!
PS If I knew how to give karma, I would give you some.

if you do two shots a week of 100mg a peice (for a total of the same 200mg a week) you will be able to keep your test levels more even... just do a 100mg shot on monday and a 100mg shot on thursday or some similar split =) should work nicely to even out blood levels and get a bit better results good luck
:)

That is a good idea. Thanks

Well at 10 weeks then PCT, now it sound like you are just running a light cycle and its not really HRT at all. I don't think you will get that much out of that but its a start - everyone has to start somewhere.

Re: estrogen, for guys in our age group, its generally preferable to keep estrogen levels down, and nolvadex does not do that, whereas adex would. Now at only 200mg/wk, estrogen may not get out-of-hand (although for me it would). Injecting twice/wk will help prevent spikes in blood levels which can contribute to sharper spikes in e levels. If you feel bloated and your BP goes up it is a good clue your estrogen is high.

So study up and good luck

Where does someone start? Books or what? Preferably laymans terms or bloodwork for dummies.

WONDERING if your HRT from your clinic is expensive? last i looked it was very pricey.

What these clinics do is basically sell wimpy cycles and call it HRT. HRT is never cycled, so doing 10 weeks then doing PCT is far from HRT. It's a cycle.

As far as the pct they suggested. Do not do that high of an hcg dose, you will risk desensitizing your testes, and driving your E way high. On hrt, (100mg/wk) you should do 250iu 2 days a week. On cycle you can do 500iu, but never a higher daily dose. Save the Nolva till you need it, (gyno symptoms). If you notice bloat or high e symtoms, run Arimidex not Nolva.

You really need to do more research before taking these steps imo.

Here's a read on HCG from my HRT doc....
