Is "Liver Pain" severe or dull

vangoghh

New member
Two months ago I had some blood work done and all liver functioning test were fine except my ALT, which was 68. Anyways, I am about to start a nice little cutting cycle but I noticed I have been getting a little bit of pain in the right side of my back and occassionally in my stomach. The pain is dull and has never been severe.
I think a large part of it could be that I am "looking for something" and consequently am noticing any small pain. I am going to have some blood work done this week. If my Alt is still out of range but everything else is normal (AST, GGT, ALP, etc...) should it be safe to juice? I will running Tren, small amount of Test and liquid winny at the end.
Side note, my Alt has never been in normal range. I have been tested for viral hepatitis, which was negative. The doc maintains I just have a naturally high ALT

if your shit has a black color your in trouble, thats blood in it (from liver)

gotta disagree here with oiltanker and JG_1. i had hep A once and you definitely feel pain in your liver. it was about fifteen years ago so i can't remember exactly what it felt like but it was extremely uncomfortable. enough so that you didn't want to move. maybe the pain was caused by inflammation.

elevated liver enzymes cause bile in your blood, urine and stool resulting in a yellowish skin tone, darkened urine (coca cola colored) and almost white stools.

blood in your stool? is that related to liver problems? maybe that WOULD cause darkened stool but i am not sure it has anything to do with liver enzymes.

An ALT level of 68 is not really too high - could be easily explained by intense weight training and a high protein diet.

Liver pain is felt in the upper right quadrant of your abdomen and should hurt if you push there. This is a sign of serious hepatic injury. If you have other symptoms like dark stool, jaundice, malaise, vomiting, headache, etc, seek medical attention.

The pain you describe does not sound liver related. If you are worried, get another LFT panel.

Just to add you can and will feel severe liver pain. It can be a dull pain and very unconfortable when you push on it. You will notice it in your eyes first. They will start to turn yellow and then your skin. If you see these signs get your ass to the doctor fast.

It's not your liver.....your liver cannot cause pain, has no nerves.

JG is right....

ALT 68? LOL... you probably worked out in the last week. You are fine. Don't let the doctors rile you up. ALT and AST can shoot up significantly from normal weight training. If you are worried and want a good test...take a week or two off from training and retest.

You will notice the yellowish skin, yellowness in the eyes and the darker urine before you notice anything else. Also, most people will notice a lack of energy and sluggishness during the day.

Ask a few different people like someone in your family to give you an honest opinion. A lot of times people notice but won't comment on it
