Inject issue. . .please advise

I did my second week of quad injects last Mon and Thurs. Last night (Saturday) my right quad (the Monday one) started itching and I noticed a puffy area about 4 or 5 inches below the injection site (outside head of quad, just above knee). No lump, no redness, no pain, not warm to touch, just puffy and itchy. It was still there this morning and it feels like an allergic reaction so I took a couple of Benadryl tabs, rubbed on some Benadryl cream and hit the area with ice for about 20 minutes. Seems a little better but not great.

There was nothing weird about the inject. Just the usual dull ache for a couple of days after then, nothing until last night.

Also, my left quad, in roughly the same area feels a little itchy now too. . .possibly just psychosomatic.

Anyway, got a couple of questions. . .

What's cellulitis look/feel like?

If it's still there tomorrow should I go see my doc?

Monday is inject day :worried: I was thinking about hitting my glutes or delts (definitely not going to hit the quads again, if ever, till this situation clears up).

Each inject consists of 250mg of blended test and 200mg of deca in same syringe. . .1.5ml total.

Any advice GREATLY appreciated!

When I had cellulitis in my knee, the skin around the infected area turned really red and hot. It spreads quickly, so if you DO have cellulitis it's probably best to get to your doctor ASAP. I went through intravenous antibiotics as well as 4 different oral antibiotics before they could fend off the infection. It seems that the little nasties that cause infections are getting resistant to more and more meds. Good luck and I hope it's not cellulitis that you have. Take care.

Too, there was an abcess that needed to be cut open because I waited so long to get medical attention.

Going to the doctor is probably the best thing to do if you are getting concerned. With that being said...I had a similar issue this past cycle where the area above my knee became puffy and slightly red. I waited it out about a week and it cleared up eventually. Start hitting you glutes until your quad is better (obviously).

Thanks. I'm not sure if it was the Benadryl or the ice (or both) but, the puffiness has definitely decreased somewhat over the last couple of hours.

Anybody else ever have anything like this? Maybe it's just irritated. The test that I'm using is 500mg per ml (I use 1/2 ml each inject) and it has prop, phenylprop, enanthate, cypionate, deconoate, and undeconate. . .at least a couple of those compounds are known to cause a little discomfort.

1) What's cellulitis look/feel like?

2) If it's still there tomorrow should I go see my doc?

3) Monday is inject day :worried: I was thinking about hitting my glutes or delts (definitely not going to hit the quads again, if ever, till this situation clears up).

1) http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cellulitis/DS00450 Check this out. I have never had it but while I was in the military bug bites etc. were frequent and a few guys I know had gotten it while out in the field.

2) It doesn't sound like an abscess. If it gets worse I would go see a doc. Keep massaging the site and get a heating blanket and warm it up for 30 mins / 2-3 times per day.

Here is a site for abscess home care: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/articles/19988-1.asp

3) Rotate the injection site. Hit your glute or something else. If you get an inflammation in another area it may be the gear.

Keep us updated and good luck!

Thanks. It actually feels much better today. Puffiness is down quite a bit and the itch is pretty much gone. I've been receiving Synvisc injections in that knee (no cartilage left :( ) and it almost seems like the juice that I injected in my quad may have migrated down to the Synvisc injection site and had a little chemical reaction. . .ooops. . .duh. Anyway, no more quad injections for a while. I'm going to rotate between delts and glutes for a while.

Thanks to all who responded!!

Funny thing, but the first 5-6 sticks of each cycle itches for me. I'm not sure if it is my body fighting off a forign body or what. I scratch my butt alot for the first 3 weeks or so and then it goes away. Every stick I do always gets slightly red and warm and raised a little and then it goes away. Only one bad vien hit so far. I do agree with better safe than sorry but I think a lot of guys (not saying you here) get concerend too quick. I mean you are shoving a sharp metal object with a forign chemical into your body so it will react somewhat. Thats just my personal opinion, and since I am not there, I can't obviously say for sure, only you can. It cant hurt to to the doc or urgent care just to be safe. Good luck bro.

Thanks for the response. As I said above ^^^ it's quite a bit better today. Personally, I've never had an issue like this before but, I've only ever injected human grade sust and, other than the limp, there was never any swelling, itching, etc. I had already planned to wait a couple of days and see what happened but, I'm extremely busy right now so, I get freaked out pretty easy and I just wanted to bounce it off the board and get a consensus.

Thanks again.
