Inclines with bands...

Liftbig said:

when my crew does inclines with bands we set a pin in the hole that is like 6-8 inches off the ground, and double them up from there. turns out to be an arse load of tension at the top :D

Whoa...pretty cool. Didn't know that you guys did these...wow. You guys use a lot of weight on them? Reps? Singles?

I really think that the use of bands could still be a good thing for bodybuilders...because the bands provide a forced negative on every rep...

i think they may help me alot, i'm guessing there is more mind-muscle connection to control it

this is a dumb question, but were can i get some decent bands
galyan's didn't have shizzle

Bands sound awesome!

I must confess I don't know much about them, but the applications seem promising.

A question: can you add small increments of band resistance, or is that best served by just adding weight to the bar (until of course you reach the next "band")?

you can add more bands, but i dont recommend it that often. the main reason being, that a great amount of band tension will pretty much beat the crap out of you. some people can handle lots of bands, and other cannot.

if your benching start with one mini-band per side, later move onto to one doubled mini band per side.

if your squatting start with the light(purple) band, and move onto the medium(green) band, their are also the strong(blue) band, and monster(black) bands, but the blue band will most likely be too much tension for somone who has never used them before. and the monster band is just about too much for everyone lol.

I agree. I believe that it can cause a lot of muscle atrophy (if that is the right word) which is a very good thing for bodybuilders. It also forces you to be VERY explosive on the positive portion of the movement...which is good for athletes.
