Just wondering about people's opinions of the best results for muscle development, i'm not bulking, just trying to get ripped!!!
I normally work on one muscle group per night for about 2 hours (basically til failure)
it looks like this:

MONDAY: Biceps
TUESDAY: Triceps
WEDNESDAY: -DAY OFF-
THURSDAY: Shoulders
FRIDAY: Back
SATURDAY: Chest
SUNDAY: Legs

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!

why not train arms together or combine them with chest/back workouts?

Not much info to go on there but 2 hours a muscle group to failure sounds way too much

the thing is, i used to take a lot of drugs, for about 5 years (everything from ecstacy, speed, cocaine but mainly smoking pot) and last new years eve (after one hell of a party) i decided to quit everything and try to get my life back on track (i quit smoking cigarettes aswell). When i quit taking these drugs i lost a lot of my mates aswell, so all my time now is spent down the gym, i'm down there every night, so i can easily spend all night doing weights but i normally shorten it down to about two hours (plus, cardio bores the heck out of me, unless its a game of tennis or squash)

yeah but just because you've got the time to do it doesnt mean you should. Shit I've got 2 months off work while I wait for them to sort me a work visa but I'm not camping down the gym. I waste my life on tha intranet instead :(

IMO even 4 days a week is really pushing it if you're a natty and serious about gaining.

I commend your dedication and train similiar myself. Alot more hours though. haha 5-8 hours on some days. Lots of rest between sets on these days. Id say just keep at it and be sure to eat EVERYTHING. Your on the right track IMO. Ive practically lived in the gym since I was 14 and its worked real well for me. To each his own though.

I commend you as well on your lifestle change! It takes ALOT of dedication to give up on a life that after awhile seems like nothing but fun. Your on the right track bro! Keep it up!

Congrats, I've had a similar lifestyle in the past and started out the same as you, spending more days in the gym than are needed. Through the help of all the good bros here, I was able to develop a better routine and have been able to see better results from it.

Here is what I do:

Day 1 When working your chest you also work your tris alot, so just do tris on that same day.
Day 2 arms and back on same day
Day 3 legs and shoulder on same day
Day 4 (optional) cardio and aux exercises.
I also throw in abs into a couple of those days.

I am still learning and receiving much help from this board so I edit the program as I learn new things. You can develop your own routine and I'm sure that the peeps here will be happy to help you out.

Good luck and stay away from the crack :fro:
