Well yes and no.

If you were strong enough to stray you should be strong enough to live with the mental consequences of your own actions and not seek forgiveness or acceptance from your spouse (and family) because you can't live with yourself.

That's what I meant.


Besides, what good comes from cheating on your spouse, realizing your err in judgement to then hurt your spouse by telling them not only did I fuck someone else but I just now figured out that I still love you (ie: I can't get better anyway so I'll stay with the one person that puts up with me).

The only exception is when you want to end the relationship and put the burden of blame on yourself to keep from hurting your mate more. Or to finish the relationship without a long drawn out emotional debate about the future.

What's that saying, don't add insult to injury.
