JKurz hits the sack at 10pm and up doing cardio at 5am. He has the strictest regimen i have ever seen, including an impecible diet.

HE WILL RESPOND.

wow, thanks, I'll be awaiting a response from him

He is one of the best at nutrition on ELITE.

He has been joking with me about me teaching him a few things in the gym and he will teach me a few things about eating PROPERLY.

We will be training together SOON!

I would try to help you with the diet, but mine isnt the best. However, any questions you may have about training and busting ass in the gym i can assit you.

A little about me...251.5lbs at 5'10.5", a little insulation around my torso, been training for about 9 years, 5 nonstop.

Alright, I'll substitute some of my bagel eating for ham. After I read your post I didn't respond but went to Shoprite and bought Hellman's 97% fat free ham (60 calories and 10 fat calories per serving).

Should I reduce my reps and increase my weights or just increase the weights as much as I can? Currently I am pushing myself pretty hard so I'm not sure I could physically do weight with the same amount of sets.

Ok, as far as nutrition is concerned I am not so sure and need advise myself but I know that you should eat the right amount of carbs so you will have energy. I am so against the atkins diet, but lowering carbs while eating enough makes sense to me.

I think you should do lower reps and bulk up the muscle. make sure you rest two days a week at least. BUT if you feel you cannot take more weights then listen to your body. Cardio is great and will also make you feel healthier apart from helping you lose weight. A friend of mine once said to me that 3 times a week cardio is fine but when he goes 4-5 days a week he really sees the difference.

Other people on this forum are way more expert than me so I hope I have put my part in to help you, - take all the advise you get and do what suits you fine and maes you feel best. Good luck and respect to you for doing the most to improve yourself!!

hehe, thats alright, my diet isn't that great either

if I scanned in my entire bowflex manual could you take a look at it and set me up on a nice workout plan? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Im sure i can.

One question i am curious about is the length of time you utilize your bowflex.

I train balls to the wall and rarely if ever reach 2 hours during a workout. My guess is that with the bowflex and dbs that you should be able to complete a workout in about 1-1.5 hours and then hit cardio following you workout.

One big thing that will help is to hit cardio first thing in the morning for 30-40 minutes then wait an hour before you eat. (Jkurz's advice for me to cut body fat)

thanks, I'll begin scanning the manual in a few minutes

This is what I do when I lift. I begin lifting, and each repetition I do, I go up slowly (2 seconds), I hold the weight for 2 seconds and then come down in 2 seconds. For one complete rep I try and make it last about 6 seconds. Then once I complete I set, I take very short break, like 20-30 seconds and then do the same exercises again. This is basically how I lift every other day.

After this, I eat, then I begin walking

1. do cardio as soon as you finish lifting, EAT AFTER CARDIO NOT LIFTING!

2. Im not sure it is necessary to make each rep last for 6 seconds, i think that could be cut in half, however, it is good that you can do that. I dont stand a chance for that with some of the weights im hitting. (did 5x5 for 405 yesterday on flat bench)

3. You dont need to lift more than 4-5 days per week, DEPENDING ON YOUR SPLITS.

4. sorry for the slow response. It is a late night in the office trying to figure out mistakes in programing (SAS). Fucking statistics meeting in the morning with my research group.

wow i guess jkurz took over this forum in my absense where i went over to c and c and training forum. im back on ckd and wow it sucks, although i like ranch dressing this time around that helps me get some things down.
