Sig, H&K, Glock, Walther, Beretta, Kahr are all top quality.

I still have doubts with S&W and Ruger for pistols (other than .22). Stay away form Jennings, Norinco, Keltec (yes I'm a big Keltec hater)....

Are you also planing to use it in a CCW situation too ?

Get you a glock .45. Not my favorite, but straight forward. Load it and pull the trigger. No need to worry about keeping it oiled.

i just dont like the glocks bulkiness but if it doesnt need routine maintenence then it may be a good idea. i went over to my buddies house last night, he has a beretta .40cal and a sig .45cal and he said he prefers his .40cal more

I’m just a chick but first I would recommend taking a handgun safety course. Anyway, my conceal weapon of choice is my .357 mag., It’s a Taurus 650 CIA, very sweet! At the moment my ammo of choice is remmy .38 +P SJHP.

It's real hard to beat a shotgun for what you are describing as your need. And something with a name like "Wingmaster" is a lot easier on a jury's ears than something with a name like "Persuader", or "Street Sweeper" should it ever come to that.

First, I'd look real hard at doing something to my door so that it can't just be kicked in. If you can slow that down so it takes more than 10 seconds, you'll have plenty of time to get to the shotgun, but by then whoever is kicking the door will probably be gone, which is better still.

good point, my complex has a intrusion alarm thats free but it just has a hella crazy alarm that only neighbors could hear if the door is kicked in or i could pay a monthly fee to have it alert the authorities when a intrusion occurs...or i could buy a handgun and teach some crazy mofo a lesson...besides i live in Tx where we can carry concealed weapons as well
