I sent this to CNN concerning their girls on steroids segment.

you can't blame anyone but the people who have abused it. it's going to remain a hot topic until the ones who claim to know better have abolished it. anytime someone hits a 500ft. homer, they'll ask, "ya think he juices?" anytime they see a guy over 200lbs. and lean: "i bet he juices". anytime some kid who has busted his ass to bench 300lbs. before he can legally drink, it's gonna be: "he juices, i heard that's how you get strong". lack of facts and irresponsibilty has made this possible.

also, the method that's typically used (i remember doing it myself) was an in-class poll. they pass out questionaires about which drugs you've used or tried. half the time kids make a joke of it and fill out ridiculous claims.

i wouldn't worry about it, this too shall pass. last week it was an african-flesh-eating-virus-that-was-a-cousin-of-the-ebola-virus. next week it'll be duck-billed-platypusses. remember, there are things out there that can kill you. and you're gonna hear about every single muther fucking one of them.

Alcohol ... got me arrested/ makes me feel awful in the morning/ can make me feel depressed/ uncle and cousin commited suicide while intoxicated.... this kills people. Crack/ heroin etc- if u overdose, you can die.. done.

AAS- helps build muscle- increased self confidence- increased attension towards me- makes me feel good about myself. only the knowledged should use however.

great letter QS- hopefully they write back... like I said in another post, I didn;t even know about AS until i was like 12- 13 and never thought about taking it until last year. Now the word gets out how it can make u a great ball player and for girls, can help make u beautiful and model thin.. this can be dangerous. media only concerned about ratings and money

Props on making the reply to them QS.

As madcow mentioned, where do they pluck these stupid figures from? It's akin to the ads which say add up to 50 lbs to your bench. Well, zero falls in the range 'up to 50' just as 0% lies in the range "up to 7%". Lies probably being the operative word.

Lets face it. In the States, steroids are in for bad publicity and it could turn into a witch-hunt. We don't have anything like the same exposure over here in England except for the odd instance of an athlete getting busted and, even then, hardly anyone pays attention.

Quad, nice letter. I doubt you'll get a response though. Doubt it greatly.

I agree. (Although you may have went a little off point with the hispanic issue)

This overblown nonsense won't stop until the next flavor of the month comes up. CNN, and the rest of the media, reports flashy stories to get people to read and watch, thereby generating revenue.

Little girls taking 200mg of A-Bombs every 3 hours and growing big cocks is an "eye catcher" and will be reported 10x more than the epedemic of kids fucking, drinking and dropping acid...unless a famous kid gets caught doing it and/or killing a busload of nuns while under the influence.

Has there ever been a grassroots backlash against the media that has halted the sensationalistic mess the media has become on ANY issue? If it didn't happen with OJ, it isn't going to happen with gear - the storm just has to pass.

All we can do is fight the good fight - and that is what Quad is trying to do. K to you for the effort.

great letter
the way steroids are looked at by the US govt makes me really glad I am a canadian, everyones attitudes tend to be much more liberal about stuff like that, so using them doesnt make me a social outcast who could do time for personal use.
We tend to follow the US in most things they do, this is one thing that I really hope we do not follow suit
