The prices of DVD burners have gotten pretty good so I indulged in the Panasonic DMR-E20.

Get this....the operating instructions are 111 freakin pages long. The cover design looks like something out of the Matrix.


Damn....all I had to do with the VCR was hit the record button thingie.

Yea....well first I bought a computer with a DVD burner. I'm no computer dood and that thing frustrated the shit outta me so I took it back.

I thought a stand alone burner would mean just hitting the record button.

Video still has some advantages. Tape is cheap, it is rewriteable, and I've never seen a tape that did not work.

All tapes work in all machines and there are myriad compatibility problems with DVD. The DVD that I burn has an excellent chance of not playing in someone elses DVD player.

You can erase video by passing a large magnet over it as well.


Tape is also currently considerable easier to work with.

I with you. Those DVD burner/DVD record aren't quite there yet. Videotape is still the way to go for record television but Tivo is really good too if you wanna pay for it. Everyone I know with Tivo loves it.

To copy a DVD

step 1: insert DVD to be copied

step 2: push copy now

step 3: when finished copying, remove DVD

step 4: insert blank DVD

step 5: push burn DVD

not ragging on you, but how hard is that. unless you had some shitty software.

Like I said you must have gotten some shitty software that came with your burner.

The software I got with my Sony burner includes a program called myDVD and it does exactly what you are looking for.
