I Love Lifting!!!

There is a scent to a good weight room. There is an Air about the Place. It is not just a place with bars and plates. It is a hall. It is a sanctuary. It is the field of battle.

There is a feeling that permeates the air with the thick memories of the iron Gods who have come and gone. Who acheived physical perfection and leave a faint yet gleaming light for others to show them the way to Valhallah.

The way the cool metal of the bar feels against my calused hands. I survey the entire set up to get my mind around the weight. I narrow my focus to just the bench or wrack I narrow it further to just the bar and then the spot. The spot is all that my mind is really moving. It weight about a pound, maybe two.

This is where there is nothing but silence. Everyone and everything fades away there is only my mind and the motion of the weight and the sound of my breath. I acheive unity with the Iron. I find the mind of God with the Iron. I find all that ever was or will be with the Iron.

I LOVE LIFTING!

That scent is my rotten-ass protein farts.
Only kidding, the gym is my sanctuary also, I go there and forget about everything else.I also work out some problems there from time to time.

I had to take monday and Tuesday off:bawling:

I was moving furniture around sunday.
And was helping a friends mom move some stuff.
I was hanging on to a couch off a second floor balcony. My shoulders were on fire the next 2 days

That is a great commentary Wodin, kinda like Rollins only shorter.

I love the head rush and pounding after lifting several hundred pounds off the florr doing deadlifts.

Great post Wod!
It's too damn bad there is always some dip shits at ALL gyms that can bring you down from this moment of epiphany...

It is a LOVE/HATE relationship. I love lifting I hate the pain. Also I lift at my house so I don't get some of those "things"

Very depressing that I can't lift like I want to now because of my shoulder.

Excellent post old man...my gym is definitely my sanctuary

George, Wodin is scaring me again. Make him stop. I don't want callused hands and gleaming lights.:bawling:
