uThe Kmart by me that put in self check out has so much theft they removed them.
I don't remember where I heard the story but this guy bought like 3000 dollars worth of stuff from home depot and the buzzer went off and there was a circular saw blade not accounted for and he was arrested. He told them he didn't notice that it didn't get run up and he's pay for it. The called the police on the guy and he was like why would I pay for $3000 worth of items and not include a $50 saw blade? It cost him over 5g's in lawyers fees.

Personally, I would not bring it back unless it was a item with a high value. I would not want to waste the gas going back. Shit happens Frisk, at least you have a conscience.

id rather just not be hastled. i could feel as shitty as i can about accidentally taking something (didnt even do it on purpose, so theres no bad karma there) and it wouldnt come close to how shitty being hastled makes me feel.
she would go in there, they would give her atttiude and be fucking dickheads to her about it. when you try and do something nice that makes someone else do extra work it just makes them resent you.
for example.
a wire went down on our street, so my mom called to tell them, and they put her on hold for a while, and my moms sits on hold just to report a wire. they ask if it caused our house to lose power and my mom said no. they said then why are u calling, and my mom said, to report the down wire so whoever it affects can get fixed faster. the person gave her attitude and shit.
then my moms lik ejeez, and i go "tahts what u fucking get for trying to be helpful"

I did the same thing. Took it back to Customer Service with the receipt and payed for it. The Reps looked at me like I was a nut.
