If you actually shot someone with a 12 gauge slug it would put a hole big enough for you fist to fit thru.The entry wound would be about an inch in diameter,the exit would be about 6".

Different slugs will do different things, but the most common slugs, used on a human, will enter with a twelve gauge hole and exit with a twleve gauge hole - especially at room to room distances.
