dont you have to be employed by some sort of gov. agency to do something like that?

I don't belive they were....I think they just needed to obtain different licenses and certs.

You need a License to clean up splattered lungs ?
I would imagine the city/county has everything collected and just feels above wiping down walls and moping floors so they Sub it out to a private company.

I would think little security would be involved since it's a crime scene already picked over and done with likely..

That job takes an awful lot of training. You have to go through OSHA training and it can be extensive. You do wear those protective suits, gloves, face sheilds and boots. Those suits are extremely hot. My company deals with a company that makes those suits. If you can handle the psychological aspect of the job, it can be very rewarding. Good money in it but dealing with doom and gloom stuff has it drawbacks. Like somebody else said, if you can detach your emotions from what you are dealing with, go for it.

Frack, hook a nugga up brother. I want to get out of software and if thats an 8 hour a day job, I wont have to take a paycut. LOL. I am serious, sounds fun.

In terms of safety - you should be pretty safe. When my dad worked on an ambulance in Rochester NY, the crime scene guys would oversee the company that did clean up - they don't want you fucking with the place at the end. They also won't let you get fucked with.
that said - that was Rochester, not sure how they do it where you are.

as for physical health, you will sweat a lot - they wear full bodysuits and gloves and masks and shit - if not, you sure as hell should be. you work with some caustic shit, not to mention the blood pathogens (mainly would not want hepatitis since it is hearty once outside the body, unlike AIDS and a few others).

as for mental health - that could be tough. seeing brains all over a wall of a bathroom is likely not something that you get used to quickly.
that said, think of it in terms of the broad picture - if you think of it as the person, it hurts. if you think of it as a body that was cells that were doing their thing and on down - the way doctors view it - then it gets far less gruesome. seeing it like a system, as you would an engine or something.

The job sounds pretty sweet if you cant take that kinda stuff.
I worked at a hospital for 2 years. One of my mnay jobs were to transport bodies to the morgue, and wash the body storage room (freezer). Also i transported bodyparts that were being transplanted. In the end it got to me. Mostly the thing that i often transported people i just have been talking to, to the morgue. If you are strong enough for it, then do it.

Hmmm interesting points made by all..Ive actually already made up my mind to go through the initial stages, Happy she actually mentioned in her message she just left me that I woudl have to get immunized against hepatits b....I've never been upset by gore at all, I know I can handle that aspect of it, the visual part because I wont have to be removing bodies....now if I had to be removing bodies I'd probably say no....Kronk really will ask her if she is looking for anyone else my man.

A hundred bucks says that after the first time you wipe up a infant or young kid you will be haunted by it for a while.....you will probably have nightmares.....after a while on the job, you will be able to eat Chef Boy Ar Dee Ravioli's like it ain't a thing.

hep b is a 3 injection course over a period of months, so u wouldnt be able to get immunized straight away. also im not sure of the immunisation is 100% effectove, but then again its not the only one that isnt :D

the rules and shit you can learn.....they will look over you quite stringently to make sure you dont fuck shit up, but i doubt they will go to extremes all the time (say a 90yr old women died and had been rotting in her bed for a few weeks. if you had to get rid of the bed and any maggot infested area's they aint gonna give a turd)

thr mental aspect of it s what u have to worry about. i;d not ask anything about the cases and stay as detached as possible from the job....wont always work but i;d try. there is NASTY shit when you look inside a dead body....

health wise....avoid needlestick and play with shaprs carefuuly and you should be ok

provided it was a safe job (job security) and i knew i wouldnt regret sacrificing my GNC job and all the cheap supps id do it
