I feel drained......

I've been going hard in the gym for about 4 straight months. This week I have missed the gym because of work and today I was just cooked. Is it bad to have one of those weeks.?......

Currently on test and tren

just workout anyways...after the first few reps the tren will get you in the zone. just got to do it even if you dont want to

Having a week like that's fine. I think it's more important in a rest week to scale back intensity rather than just skipping out period. I'm on test/eq and had one of those weeks recently where I crashed and had to do very light workouts for a week. I took a rest week, a week of medium intensity, and then attacked the cycle again and that worked really well for me. Just because you're on aas doesn't mean you are immune to overtraining, but just because you're very tired doesn't mean you're overtrained. If your performance is suffering is a better question to ask.

I took 1 week OFF 2 weeks ago

I did not realize I trained for 20 days STRAIGHT and when I hit the Wall I was cooked for days lol

FORCE your self to take 2 days OFF a week max 3

I had to take a couple weeks off as well because of commitments. Back to the grindstone this week and man am I sore. But the joints feel good for the rest. Put on a couple pounds as well not the best kind but feel better. Giving the joints a rest for a week every few months is not a bad thing.
Muscle will continue to grow up to 3 weeks after stopping if diet is in check.

rest is one of the most important parts of weight training, people forget that sometimes, or they just dont know it. You put your body under months of stress and beat it down, when is it supposed to build itself back up if you never take time off? If your drained that bad your body just needs a break, youll come back stronger and feeling great. I usually take atleast a week off every two to three months, and during my training i will scale the weight and intensity way back every few weeks if i feel i need a week to recover and go light.

ive been prety much been training consistent 5 days a week for like 5 yrs now and i feel better then ever....i sleep bout 10 hours a night tho so that prolly helps

listen to your body

your CNS needs a break sometimes

this is one of my "off" weeks - only lifted twice since sunday

back in full action next week

Good posts......I think my body really needs the rest, I have been really going at it hard.....

I figure 1 week off can't diminish the hard work I have put in....

OH By the Way when I hit the wall

there were 3 days Where I was literally on Body Vacation lol

CNS was def part of it as Swole Says, the CNS tend to endure stress well , but once you hit that WALL its not something that 1 day off will fix.

your body has a lot of ways that it can become chronically stressed, when you get to the gym and just can't put the same weight up even on gear, you are in this state, some call it overtraining, i think that's too specific, i think honestly you can just put yourself in a state of chronic stress, same kind of stress you get from work or financial problems... you'll notice joint pain, stiffness, poor sleep, depression, all these symptoms, i get extreme fatigue and inability to focus. you just gotta let yourself relax, get a heating pad, relax everything, get a massage... every now and then you need some serious time off for stress relief

In your week off, visualize all your exercises. Neuromuscular facilitation is a big reason why a lot of people aren't as strong as they should be, or aren't as comfortable with a movement as they would like to be.

Sorry if that sounds cliche.

Agree, STRESS is the BBers worst enemy. You can even get stressed if you are not making it to the gym every night that you train. There is no easy cure. Its a mental thing that you just have to get your head around or your body will suffer accordingly. Its probably one of the most difficult things we have to deal with as a BBer.

Deep Tissue is the way to go. Find a reputable person in your area (preferrably a male or very strong female, depending on your muscularity) and let the therapist work you over for an hour. I never knew how many knots and kinks I had until my therapists went to work on me for the first time. All of a sudden I was one huge open sore, everwhere the guy touched me I was in throbbing pain but once I got used to it and he started working out the kinks, I started feeling better. The best part about the whole thing is that I feel that as a result of the therapy, I have have been growing more evenly and also developing some of the outer regions of the muscle that weren't growing as well.

Yep deep tissue is a great also chiropractor or osteopath to help straighten out the spinal area from the neck right down to the lower vertabrae. get them to put you on the "rack". Your whole posture will change. Great if competing.
