I dropped my blood sugar 68 points in 2 hrs

Thank you for your interest. Through experimentation on myself, using pre and post meal/workout blood glucose readings with a wide variety of foods and a wide variety of exercise situations (weights, cardio, wrestling) I have been able to contsruct my meal plan to maximize my training (wrestling and triathalons). Studying blood glucose in myself, and others has led me to have doubt and even some fear of ALA. Over time I began noticing increases in fasting glucose readings while taking ALA and a few others. Not everyone, but enough to be concerned.

No, like I said I found too many funny effects with the standard ALA. Didn't want to take a chance. I also have found too many inconsistencies with other supplements. I tend to stick to whole foods and have found the best results through this protocol.
 
It would be interesting if we got a thread going of members with glucometers. That way we could all get a better idea about how well certain supplements work by comparing results.
 
W/ Insulin..you can go into Keto in 8hrs.(I've never dones this but others have)

With r-ala, 3000mg at once w/ a VERY high GI meal w/ NO fructose...you can go into Keto < 24hrs instead of the nromal 48-72hrs.

You'll feel bad no doubt for those 24hrs...but you'll be in TRUE Keto.

How often do you check your blood sugar? I've posted this question to you before (regarding your experiments). Because most of your results only reflect when you are "on" ALA. What are your base numbers? Showing a change from a base would better show the effectiveness of a supplement. Also, maybe getting a pre-experiment, experiment, and post-experiment Hb1ac test might give an overall more practical idea of blood sugar impacts.

I've checked my BG levels to see hpow they react to diff. levels of GI carbs. I don't check BG daily. Just once in a while, and I keep a log to see what supps work and which don't.

But what were numbers before using ALA? Have you seen changes over time while using ALA? In a way this can only be checked through consistent testing. Over time, I myself noticed a rise in my fasting glucose readings when taking ALA as well as a few others who took it. If I rememember correctly this was posted by another member in an older thread. Similiar information was expressed on a different board. If possible, measuring your Hb1ac would give a better indication of how effective the supp you are testing because it will give you an overall collection of your blood sugar levels over an entire pre- during, and post-testing period.
