What if they somehow made anothe day like Valentine's? Would you feel the need to buy gifts for the gf/wife then too? Why not? Do you draw the line somewhere?

How about March 4th? That's a good date. "Grateful for SO" Day.

If she can't see how and why you love her the other 364 days of the year, then it's just not right. I feel so stupid buying and giving gifts that day. Sure she likes it, but I really feel dumb doing it. Like I'm a zomby or some kind of robot doing what everyone expects me to do, and I hate that.

Nothing stopping me from bringing home flowers on any other day of the year, just because I WANT to. Not because it's a certain day to prove yourself. *Do it today or forever hold your peace.* Not for me.

It's not for everybody. My wife knows it, and apparently aap's girl does too. Why play games. If he doesn't treat her very well, I'm sure she wouldn't stay with him. V-day doesn't make or break a relationship.

I'm trying to help you inexperienced guys learn how to be happy in a relationship & marriage, rather than end up miserable, broke and divorced like I see daily.
