I just couldn't go.I'm not sick or anything.I didn''t lie about it.Just said I can't come in today. I have been calling off about once a month.I'm just burnt out.I need to be careful or I will get one of those orders to see the company shrink.I don't need a shrink.I just need a day off.I don't think that's asking for much.

what do you do doll?

I'm a paramedic. It's not the job that burns me out.I think it's the hours and paperwork.I work between 60-80 hours a week.If someone calls an ambulance, even if we get cancelled before we get there, I still do about 15 minutes of paperwork.EVEN IF THEY CANCEL THE CALL BEFORE I GET THERE!If I actually transport a patient, then I end up doing about 20-30 minutes of paperwork. They may not sound bad but consider I work 24hr shifts.Last shift, I had 19 calls in 24 hrs..That means I was there for 27 hours with the last 3 hours being paperwork.Yuk.

ahh I see! yeah, those are some brutal hours.

hA,HA.
They are QUICK to send us to E.M.P. where I work.CISD all the time.I have paperwork-PTSD.Lol.

Sorry.I didn't realize I was typing in code.I was making a joke about having
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because of paperwork. That's all.

Most medics go for other reasons.I'm about to get sent over paperwork burn-out.I'm fine with the other stuff.Does that make me cold or just a tard?

They should fund your positions a paper-work guy you can dictate too. You could even put the dictation on tape while your doing other stuff and have them type it up. If they say 'its too expensive' tell them to hire people abroad and do it all through the internet/email!!

paperwork is definately a bitch, especially if it has to be a certain way.

I was running a investigation, and had to get stuff ready for court, it was about 5 hours of typing after a 15 hour shift then I got 4 hours sleep and court the next morning.

well one of my minions fucked up and I ended up finishing the notes just as I had to leave for court, then had to go on teh stand after all that bullshit, because buddies fuck up I hadnt slept and the defense lawyer made me look like a complete retard,I damn near throttled him I was so frustrated after all the hard work I did and us losing that injunction

were you a member before by the name of medicj?

it sounds more like he is a lawyer, cop,or investigator.Medical people don't go to court much.....unless we are getting sued.

ya im an investigator,I was just using my type of paperwork to compair.

im sure yours has to be done a certain way,as does ours, and when your busting your ass and are almost done then fine a fuck up,that makes it even worse.

blah I hate doing any paperwork, always have to redo it too

That's what I figured.I knew u didn't sound like a medic. We only go to court a couple of times a year and we don't do paperwork about it......it's about the only thing.

If you don't like paperwork, don't ever become a lawyer. We are single-handedly responsible for destroying most of the rain forest, I think. YUCK!

well it would seem she is.I was pming with her and she asked some ??? that only some one that has bin on ef before would ask.she was asking about bigman245 wich happend to be aome one that was mixed up in some way or another with medicj

allso when i was pming with her she has that same dry way of talking as medicj did.

Everybody needs "mental health days". A day off alone to regroup. Especially the stress & responsibility of what you do & the hours you keep.

What was your craziness call on the job?
I get asked that, A LOT. I was better at answering it the first couple of years.I am still waiting to cross that multi-casualty train vs. bus call from the list but besides that, just about everything. It's all crazy, yet, boring at the same time.I'm kinda burnt out right now.

Don't be so damn negative.Don't personalize everything.I speak in generalizations. So generally speaking,I say: :mix:  :verygood:

i guess i should have worded that different. i meant it as a joke. i guess it did sound bad..lol :qt:

He went to Iraq, came back, now won't stop calling her every day......because she's with someone else. That's how it always goes. But bigmann's right. It don't matta.

it was her fiance but does it really matter anymore???
It doesn't really matter, but some of us, well, I, remember her fondly, no matter what happened, & some news of her would be nice.

You know, it's crazy they have any one person with such a critical job working this many hours in the first place. Think about it: A sleep deprived ambulance driver/life saver/etc, stressed out to the point where necessary mental/physical performance is impossible double shifts and such, drastically increases risk of medical personal making possibly fatal mistakes, and drivers getting into accidents which may very well cause more fatalities/injuries....and more paperwork.
....But ehh it wouldn't be financially pheasible to hire another person to relieve some of the workload.

Yeah I suppose. We're all machines incapable of fatigue-induced error though, what am I thinking.

Yeah, makes perfect sense.

I can give u news. But I don't know if I could get her back. She's really busy.Hardly ever answers the damn phone but I see her at work a few times a week.We work at the EXACT same place.

Love and war never mix. Tragic. Go overseas to risk losing your life, come back and to find you lose your gf and she's bangin some other dude. Standard theme for a soldier's life it seems. Oh well that's the way it goes lol.

OMG do i have to recap that whole thing??? she found out after he was gone that he cheated on her a few times before he left. she sent him a letter and an email asking him and he admited it and said he could never forgive himself and that it would be best if they ended things. looks to me that he found this other woman, cheated, then left medicj for her. but now that hes back its a different story. now it seams he wants her back. kinda funny if you ask me

isnt that sad? Before I got married my boyfriend at the time was sent to another side of the country to serve the military. I waited until I found out he was going out with some local girl. Thats asshole....while I was sittin at home waiting for his ass to get discharged from the military

As soon as my fiance graduated H.S., we got hitched & I dragged her to Germany. The only way to ensure no funky business.
