Ducks unlimited & Trout unlimited are just a couple of PRIVATE organizations that buy up land to provide refuge for these animals. These are just two off the top of my head, there are tons more. Maybe if each average joe had more of his tax money back he would have sufficient funding to donate to these great organizations. Oh, but wait a minute... "liberals" don't want you to be able to decide what to do with your money. They want to take your money at gunpoint and dispense it as THEY see fit. I guess the goverment needs to tell me where to spend my money too, huh?

The government cannot even take care of their own land. They are the biggest polluters in this country. Private companies will take much better care of their own land than any government agency.

Of course, b/c the EPA is under the dictates of Congress. The EPA still has limited powers. But, I'm still going to read these articles, thanks for the link.

They may seem insignifant now, but what concerns me the most is the potential for them to become signifant. For example: you increase traffic into our wildlife, it will only continue to increase over time. Or, you build roads, you'll likely only build more roads. Once you begin invading untouched areas of wildlife, odds are that you'll want more and more.....

Where do we drawn the line in protecting the environment?

ABSOLUTELY. Why do you think we have the Judicial Branch? Because often we make unconstitutional laws or unwise decisions.

Deregulation and leaving important matters to the private sector sometimes accomplishes nothing---in fact, it often makes matters worse. You can't leave the environment to the private sector, b/c the private sector's only goal is to make money......

you got to be kidding....so you are saying that the government is not out for money.....that is all they are out for.....do you really think they care about the average citizen....if they did then they wouldnt be lying to the american people every chance they get....clinton was a prime example....everything out of his mouth was a constant lie.....the only freedom we have anymore is the private sector.....if that goes then we are no better than china and some other third world countries

Rizzo made another point I wanted to make. RyanH, I bet you are not a member of Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, or The Mule Deer foundation... I am.

I don't suppose you thought about the excise tax put on sporting goods like fishing and hunting that is used for wildlife. (or how the democrats under Clinton/Gore's reign of terror spent it all on non environment/wildlife issues, and did not have to answer to anyone for it).

How much have you contributed to this? Not a dime, that is what I thought. You are too busy spending your money on mesh muscle shirts that you wear to the gay bar than to spend a few cents on the environment.
