How's My Back Lagging?

cg2333

New member
Hey guys,

I'm a skinny runt who probably needs to add more size. Are there parts of my back that I need to improve while I'm working on adding overall mass? I'm not sure if my upper back is lagging behind the rest of my back, or if any other parts of my back are lagging behind. The more pictures that I look at to try to understand back development the more confused I get.

Thank you,

I think at this point you should not worry about any lagging parts, but instead eating, eating, eating, and driving up core lifts that make the entire body grow.

i agree with the above post. you are not close enough (not being rude, i am in the same boat) to anything to be thinking about lagging parts. just eat and lift; rows and lat pulldowns will get you there.

Eat dude. And like the other guys said. It looks like you are young and you need to do all the core lifts. Deadlift, Bench, Squat. Eat A LOT and right and do those lifts. In a couple years I garentee you will have some nice size.

Actually to back up these -- these are the core compound moves & they engage your whole body -- if you side track yourself focusing on just one part of a muscle group or just one muscle group even, you eventually create an imbalance in all the push / pull & general balance all the body parts working together that can easily result in all sorts of crazy strains & pulls. At this point in the game, don't set yourself up for that.

(LMAO I'm just learning this ---- I've been lifting since 1981 w/ 5 yrs of competition training and I've got some fantastic tendonitis, rotator cuff and lower back pulls that would make you want to spend the rest of your years in a wheel chair... go for the big base & balance. Find out what potential God gave you to work w/ and then fine tune whatever you want from there.)

Eat bro. Make sure you eat lots and lots of protein and push your muscles to exhaustion. Low rep and high reps. They will have no choice but to respond. If your eating crappy food and not getting good sleep, you are doomed. Try to eat as much protein as you can handle. Some good carbs and good fats to add in, of course. But like everyone is saying, eat alot. And I add, eat lots of protein.
