how often do you pray?

sad thing is, only when things are bad for someone else. Kinda like only going to church on Chistmas or Easter

I'll take the heat....

I use to pray daily. However, my faith has been tested as of the last year, so I have become more spiritual in other ways.

Occassionally. sometimes I pray when I've had a really good day because I want to express gratitude. Other times I pray when things are really bad, to ask for help. I pray for others from time to time, too.

only when i really, really, want something. or when i want the Tigers to win. or when i'm in court or something, or maybe when a cop is behind me while i'm driving.....

I'm supposed to pray 5 times a day my family does...

i dont i do it once a day when im home and the parents get on my case

My neighbors are from Lebanon and I see them outside during prayer . My lil girl went over once, before I could stop her, and she started asking questions. They are good people and explained the whole process to her. How they must wash before prayer, etc.

I love to learn about other's faith.

Interesting question...

I cant remember the last time I said a formal prayer but I do *give it to God* when I can't handle it anymore, which is sometimes several times in a 24 hour period.

Some rote prayer, no. Thoughts of gratitude and joy to the Divine when things are good, yes. A swift "Mother I could use a little help with this mess" when things are bad, yes. Sacrifice (food, flowers, incense, etc.) and a direct petition to a specific god/dess when shit is really fucked up, oh yeah. Thoughts for relief about the things in life that are preying on my mind during ritual, absolutely.

I'm supposed to meditate more regularly, which is LISTENING for the voice of the Divine (or your higher self) rather than SPEAKING.

I'll have you know, sir, the last time I spoke face to face with a Divine being was the Mother aspect of Goddess Hecate in November :qt: I don't need to BELIEVE in Deity, they come to the damn rituals in person :lmao:

FUNNY story about Sa-Tan (pronounce it with an SH and a long "A", SHAY-tan). The word actually means Stumbling Block or Impediment (fascinating thing the Qabala, seriously. Puts a whole different perspective on the Bible).

Well, you know the old saying, HT, I'd prefer Heaven for the climate and Hell for the conversation

My ex-wife was Unitarian. They took them on field trips to learn about othe religions, like the Islamic Center off 75...

I pray every morning on my knees for about 10-15 minutes and read my friends and families memorial cards each day; that is my way of saying hello to them each day.

ill pray sometimes if i really need something.. like two times i was going bust down to nickles and i prayed earnestly for a week in a row. i just realized that those two times out of the last 7 years of my life were the only times i really prayed to god and what i prayed for happened....

last night is the first time i really put that in to prespective.. how people only pray when they want something and god gives us so much.. and its just disrespectful and selfish to not give him 2 minutes out of your day..

kindof crazy how smoking weed can bring me closer to god like i once was when i was little..

thats how we say it too

Shaytan ...

Shaytan is derived from shata, (literally `burned'), because it was created from a smokless fire.

OR

shaytan is derived from shatana, which means the far thing. So, this implies the devil or shayton has a very different nature from us humans. hIS nature and ways are far away from The straight path
