How Much Do You Pay to Tan?

I'm going to St. Lucia in two weeks so I wanted to get a good base before I got down there. I just wanted to go three or four times before I left, so I walk into a place called Solar Dimensions (I think it's a national chain), expecting to be able to pay like $30 for 5 tans or so.

They first tried to sell me some "high-compression bed" package that was 4 tans for $99!!!!!!! I said "hell no, I just want something for the average joe," so they tell me their cheapest package is 4 tans for $44. Is this right? I've never really been to a tanning bed, but I thought it would have been alot cheaper than this.

4 tans for $99 dollars?!? Wow...at that price you better not have to go back the rest of the summer.

Up here it is $6.00 per session for stand-up and $5.00 per session for the "high-compression" body scan......

If I were you I would check around a bit...

$2.50 per visit where I go.

Some places here have them for $2.00 per visit.

A shop near me has a deal for Bally's members. 7 tans for 20 bucks. Best I could find.

$5 per session is the norm in my neighborhood.

I have seen it as high as $10 per session (NOLA was high for some reason) and as low as $3 per session.

The $25 per tan is the high pressure beds.

So far i've been getting my tan going to/from home for lunch. Open up the sunroof and get a total of 30 mins of sun around noon time. But around here, 10 tans for $35.

I think I need to go to the one you are going to. I'm paying about $2 more per visit than you.

BTW, I think I am going to try the one you use next time I go. It's really not that much further than the one I go to now, and I just want to see if I like it better.

Just get one of the $100 packages. I think its 10 tans for those.

The high-compression tanning beds are really cool though. Much better than the normal ones.

I use oxsolaren though(20mg), so I only tan for 4 min 2X/week.

could you please explain the difference between normal beds and these ?

I have never found a tan for 2.50 in NY.

I use to pay ove $15 for a tan now I wait for the summer and stay pale in the winter:(

WTF??? you guys pay for a tan.

Are you guys all irish or something??

I have to make sure I don't hang my arm out the window when I'm driving or by the time I get to work it will be darker than the other arm.

I guess being white has one drawback...

Actually I'm half German and half Italian.

I think that kinda balances each other out as far as complexion goes.

i tan for free cuz i work at a gym that has them :)

seriousley though $100 for 4 tans is horrible... unless this tan will last you the whole summer and beyond, then maybe it would be worth it. ya figure the 20-30 min each day u spend tanning, plus the 3 months at $35 a month for the summer would be a lot more than 4 quick tans and ur done. see what kind of results u get on it. It may be a better deal than it seems.

what about all that lotion shit they try to sell you?..I tell em its better to hydrate the skin from inside out..plenty of water and good fats

Gee i paid 1,800 for mine.......got tired waiting in line /appointments and such,so i quit being a wuss and bought the damn bed!
