How much, compared to your body weight, do you bench press ?

ie you weight 200 lbs and you bench press 200 lbs => 100%
ie you weight 200 lbs and you bench press 300 lbs => 150%
 
405 for 1 and just missed a second last week. My fourth cosecutive bench workout for the fist time in 5 years or so. Goal is 500 raw in another year or so.
 
got 295 for 1 at 198, several years ago. haven't maxed since.

before mono, repping 225 x 7-8 x 3 sets, close grip, then wide grip, then mid grip, with 2 minute between sets.
 
My bench sucks moose balls havent tried a 1 rep max in quite sometime but did 335x2 (solid) a few months ago ..bw was prolly 215
 
Best was 370 at 188lbs bodyweight (185 naked Id assume). That would put me right around 200%. I hope to be back soon. Other bests are in my stats:

Bench: 370 (Just short of Lock-out) (raw) 225x24 275x15 300x8 315x7 325x5 335x3.75 (all raw)

Incline Barbell Press: 360lbsx1 (raw) 275x11 225x20 315x6 335x2.75
 
My best raw flat bench was 431.5 x 1.

Since then I've also done close grips with 315 x 10, 365 x 5, and 405 x 2.

Haven't maxed in many,many months.......no reason to anymore...........During my bulking (12%bf) I aim for 315 x 4-6 at 205lbs.........

cutting (sub 9%)- now - I finish my last set with 305 for 2-3 (if I'm lucky), at 185lbs.........

got 3 rest pauses last night with 405, all very well controlled.

I know after doing heavy incline I can triple 315 at 195, and have put 340 in raw comp with a pause, best in a gym was 355x1, But that is when I liked to bench, it doesn't mean much anymore
 
my best is still 365 at 170, ive been adding size (up to 185) and keeping my strength at a pause. ill do wSB again, hopefully getting near 405.
 
thanks jkurz...having short arms (only 5'6) definitely helps. Although for a competition with a pause on the chest Id get a little less weight. I have good form no bounce on the chest and my ass and feet dont move. I havent maxed for a few months but got 340 for 3 my last chest workout. In a month or so when i use m1t again im gonna try and get 4 plates.
 
325@ 210. Wasn't as clean as I would have like it to be though. Took it down a little to fast and hit the chest with a tad of force rather than just a light touch. Learned from it though.
 
question because I am feeling like a pussy haha. When you guys say max bench, do you count the weight of the bar?

Welcome to the boards brother!! And yes the weight of the bar counts, which is usually 45lbs unless you have a thicker bar.

thanks, now I don´t feel like such a pussy... I´m right around 300 then hehe.

Ok, fair enough. I've stopped benching do to shoulder probelms, and do hammerstrength machines now in place of them, but I've done 455 at a bodyweight of 220. 207%

George Halber has done 683 at 198 and 733 at 220.

There's 160lbers benching that much :)

I put up 3 & change (370) at 220 but thats nothing really. I'm built for dips, not benching

Last winter when I was bulking I got 365lbs for 3 reps weighing at 235lbs(never went down to a one rep max). Currently I'm cutting and have actually switched to DB's. My guess would be somewhere in the park of 350lbs weignhing in this morning at 210lbs.

you got it, their is a guy at ironlife, who trains at nazareth who i beleive is looking to break 600 this year at 165.
 
412 Close Grip bench x 1...PR!!!!

I did this on Monday...after doing 3" thick bar clean and presses, HEAVY log press (6 sets), 6 sets of bench press, and after doing 322 x 3 on close grip bench.

For christ sake take it easy. You are whipping my ass on close grip. Ive never went past 335, usually quit with 315x10. You guys are going to make me start hitting things a little differently.
