and how often?? 2x per week? 3x a week? Never?

I'm at my goal weight (134) but want to reduce bodyfat (yesterday was 23% according to Tanita -- want to be at 18%). Not sure whether to continue with 5x per week of cardio or not......

I do cardio after every workout for 30 minutes and then I have one day of cardio an no weights. So about 4 days a week. I have been doing that for about 6 weeks and it is working great so far.

I do an obscene amount of cardio. Too much to even post. :) But honestly, through many years of trial and error, I have found that my body responds VERY well to a lot of cardio. And since I actually LIKE cardio, it works out well.

But if you are at a weight you like, and want to reduce BF%, I would lift more - or more intensely/heavier - not increase cardio.

I'm trying to add muscle right now, so I'm only doing 1 day of sprinting in an 8 day training cycle.

I agree with Daisy_Girl; if you want to lower bodyfat, focus on increasing your muscle mass.

I do cardio 3x per week. Two days of a 20 minute HIIT and one day of some type of regular cardio for 30 minutes. I may also make the third day of cardio a HIIT though.

I do 5 days a week of cardio around thirty minutes each workout, but definatly if you're looking to lower your bodyfat, increase your muscle mass. You don't want to get 'bony.'

right now i try to get 3-4 days in of 45-60 min of either jogging or walking at an incline...but i need to because unfortunately i like to eat too much:(

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....OMG RONTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, ok I'm better, well I do pull the sled twice a week and Deb and I have a shitload of nookie and I work up a mean heart pounding doing that, does that count?

Just hiking but thats for the pleasure of it. Once a week only. BTW tanitas are notorious for being incorrect.....

My diet sucks BIG TIME...so I do HIIT 5 days a week and 10 min after that just jogging or something..then I go to a step class 2 times a week only 30 min long...and I teach a circuit so I am on/off a step every minute for 2 1/2 hours (VERY tiring) and every other day I run a couple miles...and if I dont run I do aerobic videos at home.

Hee Hee Im still flabby.

I do lift in there...in the mornings I do legs 2 times a week...and arms the other days at night and abs 2 -3 times a week...but I really slack off on my abs. You cant see them anyway.

Here's what I usually do. I usually walk to & from the gym, anywhere from 6 -8 miles roundtrip depending on the route. Lift when there, about 3-4 days per week. 2-4 days per week I do official "cardio" ie elliptical via HIIT. Total cardio probably 5-6 days per week. I've been feeling exhausted doing it so I think I'll cut down.

Oh yeah......nookie definitely counts!!! I count that as intervals!! Yeah, baby!

I do an intense heavy bag workout twice a week right now but that's about it for cardio right now.:)

I do bag work once to twice a week, but mostly my cardio is done in spinning class or on the eliptical. During the summer I try to swim too. I like having these couple of different ways of getting a good cardio workout so I can adjust to my ever-changing schedule. And none of them are too hard on me like running has become. I do my cardio after my weight workout.

If I had to walk that far to the gym I would never have enough energy for a good lifting workout. How do you find the energy to make it back home?

No joke, I was thinking the same thing. Going there I can see, it's the going home that would suck bad.

And how do you find the time? That sounds like around a 3 hour adventure everyday - wow.

Ive been doing wayyyy too much cardio for the past few years. Lately it has been 5 days a week for 45-60 minutes either high intesity intervals or moderate intensity steady state. And for what???!! Not sure why other than out of HABIT or GUILT for my poor eating habits? LOL
Starting a new strength training program next week to increase lifts. I will undoubtedly be cutting way back on the cardio:rolleyes: but i refuse to do less than 3x/week for 30 min each time. Let's cross our fingers that i dont gain alot of fat

Nickle bag, dime bag ,,,,how does this count as cardio

Lucid & Daisy: It's really not that bad! It's a 30 min walk to the gym & about 30, 45 min or 1 hour home depending on how far we go. It's usually a 2 hour jaunt gym wise including walking & lifting. That's why I'm going to start counting that towards cardio more often!! LOL

I make myself do a good lifting routine. No slacking for me! It's been paying off cuz my free weight bench is up to 90 lbs.
