yes I check the full inventory of the truck every morning and make sure the truck is 100% in-service, then sweep (use a leaf blower) and mop the bay.
I work every 3rd day. 10 days per month. 24 hours on and 48 hours off.
Every Firefighter is a NPQ 1 certified and EMT- (I)ntermediate. We dont provide Advance life, because normally within 5-10 minutes (sooner depending on if it is priority 1 or 2) an Wambulance is there. In bad cases the Airmeds come out in their little helicopter.
We carry a jumpbag with the basics: Oxygen tank, all the plumbing - nasal cannulars, non rebreathers, combitubes, etc. Plus all the bandages, wraps, etc.
Also an AED, and suction unit for the chokers.
As far as fire clean up.... We normally have atleast 2 engines, 1 ariel truck, 1 rescue truck, a battlian unit and a dozen volunteers show up at a structure fire. So that helps out with clean up for sure.
