How many times a week do you guys recommend doing chest

I blast chest once a week always changing days round so my body dont get used to the load on any certain day . And I cannot imagine trying to work it a 2nd time in one week. I'm just curious as to what will happen when I start my first cycle of gear in bout a month. Cannot wait! :)

SO THATS WHY MY GAINS HAVENT BEEN NEAR AS GOOD AS THEY WERE WHEN I ONLY DID ONE OR TWO DAYS A WEEK. I bust my ass in the weight room i dont talk to anybody, just take caffeine pills put my headphones on and lift hard as hell. It is sort of a habit for me to train my body parts more than once a week. I pretty much do all my body parts twice a week even my arms. My strength has gone up but my weight hasent ans im on t-200 and just started ref-B. Thanx for the advice-also i want to keep the strength and i heard training only one day a week drops your strength. Also how many exercises do you guys do for chest-i do three exercises on relatively high weight for low reps.

Pump is a poor indicator growth/strength progress. The deadlift doesn't cause much of a pump in a single body part yet it is one of the most effective massbuilders.

1 intense chest workout per week is considered optimal.

Many lifters train 1 heavy day and 1 speed oriented day (read light weight) later during the week.

The only lifters training the bench 3 times per week drastically limit all of the other lifts and generally train lightly at first and gradually build intensity on 1 heavy day per week. (Stephen Korte's 3x3 Powerlifting Program is an example and consists of only the Squat, Bench, and Dead trained 3 days per week every day - Romanian Olympic lifters are also known for training frequently - do not try this unless you really know what you're doing)

Any more than this and you will cut into gains. You grow when you aren't training. So you can either walk around pumped training chest 3 times per week or you can make progress and train less. Don't let ego in the way of progress.

MADCOW-very good advice thankyou and i also like your end quote. "Dont let ego in the way of progress."

You have actually set yourself up for some nice gains. Take a week off, then start an intense once a week chest routine. I think you will see quick results. These things can be cycled for lagging body parts. Train it twice a week for 3-6 weeks (carefully and intelligently) to overwork it, then go to once a week and watch the growth.

only 1 time a week the thing is change off from heavy to moderate every 2-3 weeks which means youll be breaking different fibers allowing it enough time to recoop and grow.

I train each body part once a week, which works best for me, if you are chemically enhanced training twice a week in my opinion would be acceptable, maybe try your usual sets of only major compound movements on day 1 and then on day 2 of working chest do shaping exercises only. But as I say 1 day a week is more than enough if you train 110%
