How many pull-ups can you guys get?

With a controlled negative all the way down (just short of hanging) and all the way up (and no rocking and swaying) i can get 12.

ya when i got my 15 i was going in between parallel and just hanging i sould probable try it again going pretty much all the way down :)

yeah screw, if you stick to good form now it will pay off BIG TIME. I'm just now focusing on a controlled negative on all of my movements and my strength seems to be really going up.

Previous to my shoulder dislocation I was able to manage 15 strict ones... now I can get 8... Slowly building back my strength... :)

I can only do 12 (with a 75lbs dumbell hanging from a belt) Body weight only I have done twenty, but could have done more. When I started doing them 8months ago, could only do five with my body weight.

If i am fresh maybe 10 if its a good day. My forearms always seem to be the first to go so my bi's never get a really good workout. Also for some reason after 2-3 reps i start rocking like crazy and usually have to drop my feet to the floor to stabilize which always screws me up.

I believe grip to be a determining factor. My ranges always vary depending on which grip(wide, narrow, medium, underhand...etc) I use.

Wider is definately harder

27 just doing them normal............18 if i go extremely slow on the negative

Wider is definately harder

Without question....plus.......cheating factors in to. They have a crossfit crew and they do the full body swing reps and bang them out......but I don't know if they can do 5 normal reps. Damn....in the Army we just pulled and pulled all day. I used to lose count. That was 4 years ago and I am 60lbs heavier now. I don't really do pullups anymore.

20. Rest paused. With a 25 pound plate

Not too bad for having monkey arms. I am not real sure about body weight chins though. I would guess maybe 12-15. Dead hang of course.

How many could you do before you added the weight. I just hit 22 this week and i'm going to wait until i hit 25 before adding anything. My rep range was 15-20 and i bumped it to 15-25.

25-30. This blast my back width has been Chins, Parallel grip chins, and BTN lat pull downs. I did the same three exercises last blast and I started with just body weight.

I will admit...The last few reps in my RP are kind of sloppy. Especially with added weight. I get a little "kippy" trying to get those last few reps and my negatives aren't so controlled. I am using straps for the weighted chins too.

I think people should post up what grip they are using, as well as the number. To these guys putting up 25, is this palms out, or underhand (chin-up) Underhand grip is much, much easier. IMO palms out pull-up's are the true barometer of fitness.
Personally I'm at 15 palms out. Never counted on chin ups.

when i am doing the underhand grip i can get 7-8 last time i tried and that is going down all the way and slow negative

I've been using bands to help me on these lately...good stuff.
