i call bullshit on the overtraining of abs. abs and calves get worked everyday. the only time abs and your core doesnt get work is when youre sleeping. boxers train their abs every single day, i dont see a difference in the abs from boxing and the abs in bodybuilding, except the fact that a boxers abs can take a beating, they stick with high reps while bodybuilders add weights and go low reps. i work my abs 6 days a week, 3 days with resisitance, 3 days just bodyweight.
I guess that's true, i've always been told to only do abs a couple times a week.
I guess it could also be said that since you do work your abs with almost everything you do, theres not really a need to do abs every day.
twice a week for me. getting your abs to show is more about bodyfat. get low, then concern yourself with sculpting them.

i hit abs every workout... 5 times a week
alternating between
1)
400 crunches
200 side crunches
100 side bends
100 twists
200 leglifts
2)
150 situps
100 knee raises
and
3)
weighted cable crunch
4 sets 12 reps
weighted seated crunch
4 sets 12 reps
roman chairs
also i do calves 2wice a week ... one heavy day one light day

haha o ok moya i always thought it did.heavy lifting stimulates the metabolism waaaay more than cardio... going to the bathroom after eating has nothing to do with this either...

True datI usally do 2-5 sessions a week on them. ABS SHOULD BE WORKED ALL THE TIME...not just when cutting How you gonna impress those girls if your shoulders and chest are looking good but its all in vain when she looks at a big old beer gut starring back at her???? Arnold said abs are the most impressive bodypart....when everything else is up to par id have to agree.
