here is a link to a forum about it... it seems long and difficult, it's not.
Fdisk the new drive.
Do you wish to enable large disk support (Y/N).............? [Y]
If you want to use the FAT32 file system, press Y and then press ENTER.
After you press ENTER, the following Fdisk Options menu is displayed:
1. Create DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive
2. Set active partition
3. Delete partition or Logical DOS Drive
4. Display partition information
5. Change current fixed disk drive (this option is only available if you have two physical hard disks in the computer)
Use option 5 at this point to get to the second disk drive| |
Use option 3 to delete any existing partitions.
Use 1 to create a partition (you want to avoid creating a Primary partition on this disk) - so
Type 2 to choose Create Extended DOS Partition, and then press ENTER
The rest should lead you through creating a logical dos drive in the extended partition. (you probably want to use all of it?)
When the partitions are created - reboot!!
At this point you can format it.
