I'll give more details in a min

Arms the day before chest?

Poppeye Jones in your Avatar?

Triceps before chest is a bad idea and what about shoulders? If your looking for a four day split I think something like this would be better:

Day 1: Chest and Shoulders
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Triceps and Biceps
Day 4: Legs

Add in rest days and extras like abs wherever you like. Hope that helps

My old 4 day split......

mon-chest/front + side delts
tues-back/rear delts
wed-off
thur-legs
fri-bi's/tri's
sat-off
sun-off

well that was just the type of a plan I got at 24 hr fitness so those 4 days are the only ones I can go
my other gym is too far and never any parking around there

anyways my shoulders was included with the arms day so its more like this

monday-chest/abs

wed- back

friday- legs/abs

sunday- arms/shoulders

I like what beast mentioned though
Day 1: Chest and Shoulders
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Triceps and Biceps
Day 4: Legs

Why are you so preoccupied with each individual bodypart? You need to remember that presses heavily involve the triceps and shoulders, and pulling movements the biceps. I don't understand how leg training needs it's own day. Squats are the best thing you can do for your legs, and you can just combine those with another day.

I'm not trying to discourage you, if you've seen me post you know that I dislike these routines. I mean come on man, it was given to you by 24 fitness. That place does not have the serious lifter at mind, to say the least.

yea I'm not that serius of a lifter actually, I just do it for basketball so I also have to do some plyometrics which isnt included in there

I dont know what you mean by too preocupied though, I mean I do need a ceirtain plan to follow, if you got something good for me than let me know

It all depends on your training goals. But my thoughts are different then debaser's. I definately believe focusing on seperate body parts makes a huge difference in gains and strength. Partly because Ive seen my training partner, who benches 400, and his arm strength, size and shape as far as anything else aside from flat bench, is poor in comparison to mine. He has alot more potential, but he only trains once to twice a week. No arms training, no shoulders, nothing else. Just chest and maybe back when he feels like it. Im sure hed be alot bigger and stronger if he started training more frequently and hitting everything fully. I can row 150lb dumbells for 20+ reps, 365 barbell as many times as I like and Im still not getting the bicep stimulation of 160lb preacher curls for reps. Theres just no comparison. My arms literally numb out many times during an arm workout, back barely pumps them. I definately believe you can get some overall growth from compound movements. The guy I train with went from 15.5 to 17.5 in the last 2 years doing mainly compound. But hes been plateaud for a long time. Im sure if he started hitting his arms hard theyd come up. JMO
