How do you face aging?

I use Arbonne lotions for my face and Oil of Olay for body. Im gonna stop going to the tanning salon also. Spray tans from now on but im dark naturally anyways

Just keep plugging away, but I don't look forward to it and see nothing good about it except for gaining wisdom. Nothing you can do but accept it. I'm not gonna embrace it though. lol

I dont like the tanning salons...natural sun at the right time of the day is the best...everything in modaration..

I am thinking to take some yoga classes....

Kids make you think you are way older. Damn them little buggers have constant energy.

I was 40 to 50 lbs lighter for a good reason when my kid was little. Man I scoot ass around that indoor kid's playground.

Most important thing. I average twice a day. Keeps me young.

I think tanning is the worst thing for againg imo. Fuck my mom is so wrinkled.
of course, tanning done in excess is gonna fuk you up ..plus some get skin cancer to top it off...I tan only before 11 AM and after 16 or 17 Pm.....one hour will suffice it..

Maybe we should age like those Chinese monks. Supposedly they can control their own death, drastically slow down their pulse, and other cool stuff. They're probably happier than most Americans.

I bet they are.....but it takes a very special individual to be able to sustain a monk life....I know for a fact that I couldnt handle the rigors and the stoical life they go thru....

life is not about being young. being a child, teenager and young adult are all phases of life. getting older is another phase, with all its inherent rewards and minuses. well, being a youngster had its pros and cons too. i love being 43! it beats the hell out of the alternative lol. i take good care of myself and enjoy life to the fullest. i have an empathy and compassionate understanding that was not possible when i was a young man. i would not turn back the clock, even if i could.

Sounds like a good plan. An older guy told me that sex was key to his longevity and his wife was old and prune looking, but hopefully your perspective changes at that age and you still are just as much attracted to your wife as in your youth.

I think it would be a good idea to go around interviewing older people and discover the difference between those that are happy and those that are just existing.. I'm sure attitude has most to do with it (that and lucky enough to stay relatively healthy).. I'm never giving up bodybuilding though. After achieving this, I'd be too insecure as a normal size guy.

Health and sexual prowess are the most importan ingredients life....if you take one away you are almost crippled...

I think most people need a routine. My first week off work I was a mess. I was so used to my routine, suddenly I didnt have to rush around all day and it actually had me out of whack for awhile and feeling weird and down. Of course had I been on a vacation and not at home, it would have been different.

well, both of those will certainly go towards the end. it is all about quality of life not quantity. who wants to live an extra 10 years, if you have to wear depends!

btw, j\k about you being mean.

How will the book, "Think and grow rich" change me? I'm just a downhome laid back country boy now. I hate traffic and crowds. I love going to work out at 2 or 3 a.m when noone is there. :)

I can squeeze a dollar out of nickel. Our standard of living went up pretty substantial, but I haven't made any changes.

rich dad poor dad series of books are good but it is more philosophical. think and grow rich gives you the RECIPE for financial success, far superior to anything else.

My point is dear, you gotta laugh.

I'm 42 now, and all things considered, I'm 1000% happier than I was in my teens or 20s. And that's worth the toll of gravity any day of the week. What price happiness? Would I like to have the body I had in my 20s again, oh, in a minute. But would I like to go back to having the mind I did then ... not in a million fucking years :worried:

Are things looking less like I'd like them to? Yes. But everything that I have works, and works very, very well and I know how to use it WAY better than I did in my youth.

As for mortality ... my answer to that was to find a spiritual path that makes sense to me, and in making sense, it gives me some peace. I actually have briefly been touched by the fact that there IS something more than the mundane day to day shit we see/feel/touch and I still get very unhappy when I realize this body I inhabit now will no longer exist some day.

So the only answer is to find something that makes you smile, if it's a song, a pet, a person, a hobby. Live in the HERE and NOW and appreciate what you have, who you are, where you are, who you're with.

47 here, I have a 10 year old son, that's the biggest fountain of youth that there is. I had no children until I turned 37, burned the candle at both ends for too many years. I feel like I should be younger, but my priorities tell me I'm not. I'd like to think that it's just a number, but when the clock says 11 now, I'm ready for bed instead of getting ready to leave the house.... :-)
Tx

Not sure how to answer...

I dont mind that I getting older because my life has some pretty interesting experiences, hopefully there will be many more ahead.

I just wish that I wasn't aging so much because of all the stress I can't get rid of. I am trying like the dickenz to not let it age me faster, but I fear I am losing that battle.

And no, I am not talking bout wrinkles, though I am not too pleased over them. My concerns have far more depth than a few slight lines on my face.

I've recently started fibbing about my age. I've decided to stay 23 for another year, then 24 for two years and so on.

aging also comes from inside....the exterior can be improved due to plastic surgery but the inside has no cure....cells are dying every day...

Oh believe me, of this I am well aware. The unbelievable stress of my daily life over the past 7 years or so have aged me quadruple that. I just don't know how to deal with it. All the botox, facelifts, boobjobs, whathaveyous will not make the stress go away.

stress is the silent and the deadly aging factor...so underrated but lethal....if stress could be eliminated aging would be also slowed down IMO....

Peeps with less stress have the longest life span....

when I was your age, aging was the last thing on my mind...I started thinking of it when I was about 34 ...a few white hairs and my hairline receding were the first visual sign of the ongoing aging process ...

but i'm not a skinny fat bish no more.

33 in november but feel younger. Since Im in grad school and around so many people a lot younger than me it keeps me younger.

I don't really face it, just let it happen. I'll be honest though, I'm quickly becoming the last man standing amongst my peers - every other day I find out someone new is getting married or having a kid. It's kinda scary. I was just having a convo w/ a gf of mine the other day about this. The concept of marriage and kids is so far beyond my current scope of reality it's amusing. It's tough to be one of the few who chooses to not subscribe to predetermined milestones and deadlines in one's life as factors of happiness and success.

Peer pressure is a bitch.

Most of your friends will come back, and be all over your ass to go out etc. But, then they will fall in love again and get married.

Then, there second wife will tell you that you should settle down and try to set you up with "nice" girls.

But, then another friend will get divorced. Wash rinse repeat.

I know man, I know. It's scary.

I have a bachelor party this weekend for one of my closest friends. Kid dropped off the face of the motherfucking planet as soon as he met this chick. She's your typical italian princess rich fuck. She bosses him around and he lets her. In his email to us about the wedding party and the bachelor party a few months ago he began with "Now let's be clear, Talia says the wedding is off if there are any strippers". Are you fucking kidding me, you pussy faggot?! He told someone yesterday he feels guilty about the trip.

Unreal.

Agreed.

My last married friend was in the process of trying to get divorced was bought off with a two week trip to Spain and France by herself (and the realization she may very well find herself living with her mother in a trailer park). I figure by early Spring or her birthday the war at home will start up again last through the summer and get resolved just in time for their anniversary trip.

It's like having your very own unscripted soap opera to tune into if your desperate enough (or unfortunate enough).

I have seen that a few times myself. She is not happy, but won't leave because she won't be able to live her current lifestyle.

I can guarantee she will not leave him.

Until, she finds someone else.
