how big is big enough?

I am 6'4" and 248lbs. Yet everytime I look in the mirror i see a skinny weakling. Does anyone else have this same body dismorphia? I have done about 8 cycles in the past and at my biggest i was only 265lbs.

I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way....any thoughts, ideas??

i feel very comfy with how i look.. but can always use another 10 pounds.

I have moments where I wish I was bigger but I am usually thinking I am plenty big, just need to cut more BF off. I am changing my thinking over the past few months to not worry so much about size size and mass mass but to try and be an overall athalete. Not for any sports but to be able to do just about anything that may come my way, swimming, lifting, running, football, curling, whatever. lol

I want to be well rounded but not because my BF is too high.

im small at 6 foot 212, but i feel no different now then when i was 6 foot 190. cept for when im in the gym pumped or when i just get done f*cking those are the only times when i look in the mirror and am happy with my size

when you see yourself everyday its hard to see a difference

SwolK: I don't agree with that one at all... I see differences DAILY. Good, or bad... i notice them.

n2juice2: How big is big enough?... muscle dismorphia sucks... I know what you mean bro. Call it bigorexia. Never big and cut enough... it's a sickness.

Your stats = Big fuckin' dude though bro... I'm sure for a fact you'd tower over plenty of people in my town. I guess in the end we must try to be content with what we have... but for now I'm focused on breaking the 220 lb mark with low bf and damned near as proportional as I can get.

I agree when I'm bulking I feel to fat and when I cutting I feel to skinny! I don't think I could ever get big enough in my own eyes!

im bulking right now but doing a clean bulk but still eating a ton, and i feel fat but waist stayed same size, if not smaller.

Thanks for the encouragment, I think your right- "in the end we must try and be content with what we have."

being content means being complacent, being complacent is no good. dont lose the drive to improve no matter how you may derive it.

It's just human nature to get used to things, it fuels our need for progress. I think it IS an addiction of sorts. You get tolerant to your size/strength and then need more. But anyone who's packed on some meat knows that even when they feel dissatisfied they're much happier with their body now than they were in the beginning. Growing can't be exciting all the time, but satisfaction from progress should still drift in and out to a sane person. And don't forget that your size still has positive effects on other people's perceptions of you. Men respect you more and women want to grope you.

Its funny, i will think I look no different when on cycle, or afer a cutter...Then later on down the road, I look at a pic of myself, and think wow I looked damn good.. Unfortunately, Im never happy at the time

during the winter I feel small & weak. then spring rolls around at which time and start the motorcycle road racing season and then I feel oh so big and slow, it's not good to be involved in 2 conflicting sports................very hard on the mind

Im 6 foot and been up to 255 lbs when bulking and still felt small. I am always striving to grow, and do not think it will ever be enough. The only thing that is going to stop me is the process of aging. I figure I may have another good 10 years left in me, Im 36 now.

6'3" tall, 237 lbs around 8% to 8.5% right now. I feel small and fat. I am totally clean.
My current goal is to move up to 240 to 245 at below 10%. If I can do that and sustain it I may cycle again if I feel okay about it. I wouldn't mind being 260 ripped!

6 foot and 240 and I am not even close to happy with the size. My wife is complaining that she can't get her legs around me anymore and to stop.

Tommy2Tone nailed it. BB's have a reverse anerexia where they view themselves as smaller than they are. Like all my friends think I am giant, but I don't see any difference from when I weighed 190! I am a sick phucker.

I feel small event though i am not,so i go out to the mall or store and walk around then you realize that your not as small as you think you are..The mirror your enemy dont look at it! Its all in your head fight the evil

It's based on perception. Everyone's is different.

What I meant: When we die, it's not going to matter what the fuck we look like... huge, small, fat, skinny... doesn't matter. It's what we did to get to the point where we want to be. It's about the PROCESS... what have we gained and or have possibly helped along the way to self improvement. Be it in body... or mind. One may be competley content (HAPPY) and still strive for self improvment.

I agree "X_con" "dont lose the drive to improve." What I'm saying here is that you can be content while striving for self improvement.

well Im 6'4" and 240lbs. Arm are 17and1/2 and legs 27" but at this height its just not that big. In long sleeve shirts and baggy pants i feel small. A friend of mine is 5'8" with 17" arms and they look alot bigger. I feel ill have to get up to about 275 to look [huge]. You think man 240 is alot but the height it needs to be heavier to compensate for the length.

well put. I swear us (6 plus footers) have a harder time putting on mass ;) seriously though, leaverage and calories don't come easily .... lol, that should stir up some opinions.

I am way bigger now than this time last year. I agree, I don't feel big enough. I keep getting too big for all my dress clothes and that shit gets expensive!

I won't stop until I can eat a taxi and scale the Empire State Building!

I'm at 5'10 around 170-175 lbs and I look alot smaller than guys who are 6' something and around the same weight as me.

I have the same problem as far as looking in the mirror and seeing the same sized kid no matter what.

Hey Bro:

Don't be so sure that age will stop you. I'm 49, have been lifting for 5 years. Started at 5'-10" 188 lb, 27% BF. Currently 224 lb. @ 14%. Would love to get up to around 240. Methinks you've got way more than 10 yrs. left. Good luck Bro!!

I hope that I can continue to make gains longer than another 10 years, but since ive been bodybuilding now for 20 years I figure I have lots less room to improve. I really cant make any gains now when off gear, its just a matter of maintaining what I have. I think eventually, with age, its going to come to that.

It's all in your mind. We have all put outselves in this sick, warped world where unless you are built like Dennis James or Jay Cutler, you are small. It's gotten to the point where you see people talking about how Arnold wasn't big enough. It's really sick if you think about it. At 6'4 and over 240lbs you ARE big. Steve Reeves was 6'1 and 215-220 on stage, and 200 when he was in the Hercules films. He was considered to be BIG, but if he were alive today and posted his pics on here, people would tell him he needs to add mass.

If you keep looking at things the way you do, you will never be happy with any progress you make, little or big. It will never be enough for you. I know this because it's a problem I'm dealing with, as are a lot of other guys (and some girls) on here.

Are you big enough? Maybe remove the enough part of the question, and just ask if you are big. The answer to that is yes. Be happy with all levels of your physique and all progress that you make. There is more to life than being 310lbs at 4% bodyfat.

I am 5 foot 10 and about 190 right now. I think I am little as can be and occasionally I have someone comment on my thick size and realistically I think the fact that I am not over 6 feet helps me a lot. I am big at all but I also look at how big some of you sick sons of bitches are on here and that definately keeps me in check ;) I think we all have seen someone in a picture and said if I can get that big and cut I will be happy but honestly in this game we are kidding ourselves because I thought when I got to 205 I would be happy but it was very short term. Tough question but it sure is fun looking back and seeing progress and thinking about the possibility of gaining more. Good question !
