HK USP Compact 40

So, I know we've discussed weapons on here before, but I went to a gun show and a gun store today. I've been looking between a Glock, Springfield XD, and a HK. I wanted something a little smaller than full size but not completely compact. I have decided between 2 choices: Glock 23: Slightly smaller .40 cal; and the HK USP Compact 40. I almost didnt even find an HK until we went to that store.

I just would like to know if any of you own either of these weapons or both. I am trying to justify the added price of the HK over the glock as well. Thanks

Check out my thread and others on the Outdoor forum.. All of the choices you mention have been thoroughly discussed.. good luck

Yea, this rival gang was arguing with mine over Fg = {Gm(1)m(2)}/r2

I beat him with my bat but it wasnt enough.

I just want a hand gun now that I am 21. It will be multi purpose. Bed stand/car/winter carry.

I'd totally cap his ass. That, or shoot him with an expanding-broadhead ACC arrow at 5 feet, and say I nailed him from 40 yards.

:cow:

my dad just got the HK p2000 LEM.

i shot the HK USP Compacts in 9mm, 40, and 45.

go with the 45...the HK 45 feels like your shooting a 9mm glock...it's that good.

check out the p2000, though. it is a REALLY nice gun

Well, I havent had the oppurtunity to hold/shoot a 45. Like I said, I did hold a compact 40 today and it felt like it was made for my hand. I absolutely hated the way the full size usp 40 felt though. Do you like the 45 over the 40 solely based on the ammo?

.40 is a great gun , nice stopping power and not enough recoil to fuck up rapid shots

I have an HK USP45CT and just got an HK UMP submachine in 3-round burst mode. I absolutely love them. The 45CT is available only to law enforcement and military personnel. It's pretty compact. I had an HK MP5 before, but we were recently issued new submachines. Some of the guys on our breech team carry MP7's. All of our UMP's are suppressed.

When I was with a local SWAT team, we carried Glock 23's. I liked them, but I much prefer HK's.

All of our ammunitions now are .45.

that I don't beleive........I'll have to shoot one myself to verify that. I've shot a glock 40 and an xd 40. The XD def. felt better in my hand.........but I didn't see any noticeable difference in shot groupage in the ceiling or the floor....... ;) yes, I'm a terrible shot.......but I'm workin on it.....

fuck, my glock 23 recoils like a mofo. I cant find the 9mm 3'' xd though anywhere around here.

You have to be kidding me.

When are we going to the Firing line so you can shoot my xd and 1911?

I want to see how much recoil the .40 has.

Go for the 40 compact, I recently picked one up and it's a very nice piece.

HK (IMO) makes some of the best guns in the world

Agreed. In all my years of tactical work, I've never had an HK misfire or jam. I can't say the same for Glock.

haha, I have today and tomorrow off... lets go or go ''up the hill'' to keystone or something.

You fuckheads had better not leave me out. I'll be home thursday this week so we either should shoot things or drink lots.

And go up to Jensen's in Loveland they carry lots of XD's in stock.

For the original question go with the USP Compact, awesome gun with great handling.

Cheers,

I'm off again on Sunday, we can go to the local dive bar here on capitol hill or peruse the gentlemen's clubs (not for the same reason mountain muscle wants to though)

I think the H&K is a better shooting piece. I fired many different handguns while on active duty and as a civilian, and found I shot the H&K about as well as the Sig. I didn't do as well with the Glock and never had it feel quite right. I fired Glocks in 9mm,.40 &.45, Sigs in the same, Berettas in 9mm &.40, and S&W in 9mm, and of course 1911's in .45, and have a Colt 1911 in .38 Super. It seems like I'm forgetting something here, but all in all for a full size I'd pick a USP or one of Sig's depending on use, either in .40 or .45. In a compact I'd probably go with the Sig over H&K. For a true concelled carry pistol I think the little PPK is easiest to conceal.

Write your Congressmen, Reps, Gov's, and the Prez and voice your opposition to the "improved assault weapons ban" it will make fellons of damn near every gun owner!

Just shot my HK .45 USP for the first time yesterday.

Super nice handgun and shoots like a dream.

so is $749 shipped plus a 25 FFL fee good for a HK USP Compact 40 with 3 12 rounders, and night sights? I'm just trying to get the best deal possible.

Yes, buy it.

ha. Yea i just did this morning. Hopefully it will be here before next weekend. Thanks. K to you.

Well, it came in, and I put 90 rounds through it today. It is flawless. Great features. The kick is substantial in my opinion. But i do like it. I field stripped it and cleaned it up. It is SO SO easy to field strip. 20 seconds is all it takes. Super easy to put back together as well. Great Gun!

Will it hurt to dry fire the HK USP 40 compact? I dont think so, but I just want to make sure before I begin doing a lot of dry firing skills.

Yes, this gun kicks harder than my .45 USP, but I attribute that to the smaller frame.

As for dry firing, I personally don't do it much. You have a decock lever on the gun no real reason to continuously dry fire the weapon (IMO).
