Survived the cross country trip (I know, you care and noticed...).
A few real quick and real amateur/superficial/1st impression observations on SD (obviously these will be refined as I learn/see more):
- holy land of the classless scumbags!!!
- as a person who did not come here primarily to get drunk and laid, I
definitely am seeing this joint thru different eyes
- supposedly 9pm Sunday nights at my apartment pool are OFF THE CHAIN
- even the 5's and 6's out here look hot, very deceiving.
I can see how Lestat falls prey
- my first night out here we went to Tokyo House for sushi, then Lahaina's (what a fucking culture shock that place was) then Tower 23. I was wearing a printed t-shirt with grey pants and white leather Calvin slip-ons. I felt like I was in a fucking tux.
Gotta get used to the non-dressed up clothes here. I can leave the house in a t-shirt, bball shorts and sandals and I wouldn't be underdressed at all....anywhere
- people are generally mad cool, especially the bouncers (more than what I am used to anyway)
- this seems like a town of people who stay out late, get loaded, sleep late, then come alive again late afternoon
-
Jack in the Box is MUCH better than In-N-Out
-
my long hair and (semi) beard were conversation starters and points of differentiation back on the East Coast.
Here, they lose all mojo
- fuck, I am looking at some little 18yo girl right now in Starbucks in a pink cowboy hat OMGIjustcame
- tons of tatted up scumbag looking beach dwellers tough-guy tryhards. Brosephs my friend used to call em when he lived here.
Good stuff. Haven't had time to even see much of the place with the moving in and trying to get ready for work tomorrow (thanks no fucking internet yet AT&T fuckfaces).
Looking forward to having some great times out here.
